01 Verify equipment is suitable for IP rating

02 Verify name plate ratings etc. are correct against design data sheet or design documents

03 Visually inspect equipment for external damage

04 Check equipment fixings and mountings are secure

05 Check interior for damage, cleanliness and remove packing

06 Check earthing conforms to project specifications

07 Check all connections are correct, tight and cable markings are fitted

08 Check all equipment carries the correct circuit identification

09 Check correct ratings of protection device against design drawings

10 Confirm all cables have been glanded correctly and to manufactures requirements

11 Confirm there is no internal damage to the equipment

12 Confirm equipment has been installed in a maintainable position

13 Open all fittings and check connections and lamp security

14 Check connections to starter circuits

15 Test Insulation resistance to earth without the lamp ()

16 Check earthing connection to earth ring and record (M)

Light Fittings, Small Power Outlets and Floodlight Control Boxes

In addition to the above checks (1-16), confirm the following:

17 Confirm correct number of fittings in circuit

18 Confirm correct lamp rating where fitted

19 Confirm battery unit fitted where required

20 Confirm glasses or covers are not cracked or broken

21 Confirm correct location and height against layout drawings

22 Confirm covers can be removed easily

Welding Sockets

In addition to the above checks (1-16), confirm the following:

23 Confirm outlet cannot be energised whilst the plug is removed
