1.04 REFERENCES
A. The referred codes and standards are intended to provide an acceptable level of
quality for materials and products. In case of conflict between these standards and
the text of this Specification, the Specification text shall govern.
B. The latest revision of the referred codes and standards shall be used wherever
applicable. In case of conflict, the Contractor shall propose equipment conforming to

1.05 DEFINITIONS
B. cable marker (sign post): The signs and symbols lay on the ground to identify the
underground routed power cables.
D. device: A unit of an electrical system that is intended to carry but not utilize electric
energy.
F. engraved: A printing process whereby images such as copy or art are etched onto a
plate. When ink is applied, these etched areas act as small wells to hold the ink,
paper is forced against this die and the ink is lifted out of the etched areas creating
raised images on the paper.
I. gloss: That property of a surface which causes it to have a mirror-like finish or the
ability to secularly reflect light.
K. laminate: A process by which different materials are layered and then bonded
together using adhesives, pressure, and/or heat.
O. electrical warning tape: The electrical warning tape is made of Polyvinyl chloride
(PVC) material. It is used to identify the routing of underground power cable in duct
bank and directly buried routed cables, continuously route along with trench and lay
on the top of the red bricks, the safety cautions (designations) indicate on this tape
with black letters on yellow background.
