Operations & Project Management
• Prevented product dry outs in 60 fuel stations (Loss of $2.1 Mn) after a transporter strike at Manmad Petroleum Installation
o Designed an alternate supply chain from Akolner petroleum depot and normalized the supply chain in 48 hours
o Diverted 65 tank lorries to Akolner depot and convinced laborers to increase depo operating time from 9 hours to 14 hours
• Managed commissioning of 22 new fuel stations worth $3.1 Mn by strategically selecting the sites in white patches
o Negotiated lease contracts with landowners, released tenders to select vendors, and handled procurement of all equipment
• Achieved $140K saving (25%) in annual maintenance by initiating a preventive maintenance schedule of equipment at fuel stations
o Analyzed equipment usage and restructured vendor contracts to implement system of payments based on equipment downtime
o Reduced equipment downtime by 60% and spare parts inventory by 50% by implementing consignment inventory model
• Reduced peak hours wait time by increasing number of dispensers and strategically upgrading 52 fuel stations
o Onboarded dealers to implement staggered shift change at fuel station to ensure maximum personnel availability at peak hours
• Reduced attrition rate of fuel station workers by 15% by ensuring each dealer covers their workers under health & life insurance
o Implemented incentive-based payment structure for fuel station workers & ensured 100% salary remuneration in bank account
• Secured allocation of $35,000 to conduct a pilot project on RFID based vehicle detection for automation SMS
• Ensured 100% digital payment infrastructure at fuel stations within 1 month of demonetization by sensitizing District Collector
o Influenced banks to divert scarce credit card swipe POS machines to fuel stations
• Increased toilet coverage to 100% by building 30 toilets to become the first sales area to be declared as Swachh Bharat compliant
Sales & Marketing
• Achieved all India highest market share growth of 5.5% in 2016 out of 250+ sales areas
o Launched a district wide consumer survey to recognize and tap the population clusters and routes unrepresented by BPCL
• Gained $28 Mn annual revenue in 8 sales areas by achieving 21% loyalty sales through BPCL wallet against India average of 9%
o Onboarded 72 national transport agencies on loyalty program through highway networking and enabled interstate selling to them
• Generated annual profits of $84K through implementation of micro market pricing based on competitor’s prices
• Developed model to enable dealers to accurately forecast product sales to avoid dry outs or inventory build-up at petroleum depots
