DAY AND
TIME LEARNING TASK

 Wake up, make up your bed, eat breakfast, and get ready for an
awesome day!
 Have a short exercise/ meditation/ bonding with the family.

Preliminaries/Introduction (What I need to know)

 To begin the learning session, have a short conversation with the
learner about the importance of communication and information in
one’s life.
 After the sharing of thoughts, give the module to the learner, and
provide sheets of paper needed in answering the activities.
Pre assessment (What I know)
 Let the learner read the article on pages 3-4 and gather details based
on what are being asked. Have them answer the questions on pp. 4-6.
Note: Guide the learner as he accomplishes the task. Stress that
comprehension is essential in answering the questions.

PROCEDURES
1. Review/Motivations (What’s In)
 In this part of the module, the learner is given an opportunity to review
a lesson learned from the previous grade. Have the learner answer the
activity on page 6. Afterwards, instruct him/her to read the text on
pages 7-8 and answer the guide questions that follow the text.
Note: Allow the learner to think freely and remember the lesson he/she
learned in the past and apply it in doing this activity.

2. Initial Activity/Discovery (What’s New)

 Let the learner read and analyze the article on page 8 and answer the activity
that follows on pages 8-9.
Note: Remind him/her that he/she has to answer with a check mark (✔) if
the given statement is right and cross (X) if it is wrong.
3. Discussion of the Topic (What is it)
 In this part, allot enough time as the learner proceeds to the
discussion of the lesson. Here, he/she is about to learn the Essential
Skills for Reading Comprehension which is located on pages 9-12.
Note: Take time to read and analyze with the learner the study notes and
examples for better understanding of the given informative materials. This
may help the learner to engage himself/herself more in the learning task.

4. Enrichment Activities (What’s More)

 This part will try to measure how well the learner understands the
lesson. There are six independent activities/assessments that he/she
has to answer from page 12 - 16.
Note: Make sure that the learner answers the activities properly. Remind
him/her to read and follow the instruction given in each activity correctly.

5. Generalization (What I Have Learned)

 This part aims to let the learner wrap up the lesson through the given
activity on page 16.
Note: Check if the learner has completed the activity. Guide him/her in
doing the task by instructing him/her to focus only on the key points.

6. Application (What I Can Do)

 The teacher may add supplementary activity.
7. Assessment (Post assessment)
 This is where the learner will be tested if he/she fully understands the
lesson. Let him/her read the article on pages 17-18 and answer the
questions on pages 18-19.
Note: Again, guide the learner in accomplishing the task. However, bear in
mind that his/her answers must come from himself/herself only. This will
promote guided learning with honesty.

8. Additional Activity
 Almost done! In this part of the module, the learner must accomplish
the instruction on page 19 with a comic strip as the target output. This
will further prove how well he/she learned the lesson in this module.
Note: As the learner finishes the final task of the lesson, greet him/her
with joy and pride. Give him/her due praises in order to motivate him/her
to do well again in the next module.

MODE OF DELIVERY:

 After accomplishing all the activities, the parent will personally submit to the teacher in school the
module, the answer sheets, and the output/s (if there is any).
