1. GENERAL
1.1 Purpose
The purpose of this document is to explain work method in Cable Installation (pulling cable)
and termination which be applied at Office at Chandra Asri Petrochemical Heater Revamp
Project.

2. RESPONSIBILITY
2.1 Instrument Supervisor
Ensure relevant permits area raised and received prior commencement of work, with full
compliance by all Electrical foremen, welder and labour regarding execution of the work in
accordance with the Chandra Asri Petrochemical project requirements and specifications. Confirm
the availability of all materials, tools, equipment and required personnel who will carry out the
work, Electrical supervisor shall confirm work preparation at job site before starting work and
control the following MST.

2.2 Instrument Engineer

Provide technical support to the Instrument Construction Group. Provide latest revision of
drawings, procedure, material specification, standard and technical specifications. Instrument
engineers shall confirm work preparation at job site and sign on before starting work.

2.3 Safety Supervisors.

Ensure that personnel comp with all safety rules and requirement in the conduct of all Electrical
equipment installation activities performed in the project. Safety supervisor shall confirm work
preparation at job site and sign on before starting work.

3. WORK SEQUENCE/PROCEDURE

A. General
1. Ensure that all equipment drawings, instruction and relevant document reference are
available prior to commencing installation activities.
2. Ensure that there is sufficient available qualities and competent technician and helper to carry
out the installation work and all personnel are qualified to perform the work and full familiar
with the tools and equipment.
3. Ensure available of all materials, including all necessary hand tools, construction equipment
and related testing and measuring apparatus to perform the work activities.
4. Any electrical/instrument equipment and apparatus inspected or tested not confirming to
manufacturer’s specification must be reported and brought to the attention of site
representative.
5. If possible, all electrical/instrument equipment shall be physically checked, inspected and
tested as per project requirement upon at the site prior to installation.
6. Prepare the rigging procedure if required, other requirement to make sure installation will be
conducted in a safe and sound manner.
7. Ensure that work permits are obtained prior to proceeding with the work in the area and those
are available to the working crew.
8. Ensure the main valve shall be off position.
9. If require, temporary lighting will be provide in area where the illumination level is not
sufficient.
10. Provide scaffolding if work at height (1800mm above ground level)

B. Pipe and Equipment Installation

1. Install PVC Pipe for toilet storage water tank.
2. Install ball valve each point which be supply by fresh water.
3. Alignment the pipe by clamp to available surface.
4. Tie in by T-connector to main line of fresh water to our line supply.
5. Tightening every connector avoid leaking.
6. Open the main valve. Make sure every connector not leakage.

4. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
1. Barricade the working area
2. All safety precautionary signboard must be visibly posted.
3. Wear full body harness when working at heights.
4. Ensure that only authorized personnel are within affected area.
5. The work shall be executed in accordance with the approved safety action plan and daily work
permit.

Preparation

Install PVC refer approved layout.

Install Ball Valve each point

Set and Aligment Pipe

Tie in T Connector to Main Line

Tightening every connector

Open Main Valve. Check there is no leaking at connector.

Cleaning and Tidy-up

Final Inspection

Completion
