MENTAL HEALTH
According to the World Health Organization defines mental health as “a state of
well- being in which every individual realizes his or her own potential, can cope with
the normal stresses of life.
Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects
how we think, feel, and act.
Understanding Stress
Stress experts added word freeze to describe self paralyzing response to traumatic
situations. Every individual responds and adapts to changes and their associated
stresses in different ways.
Stress is the body's biological response to a perceived threat. The stress response
sends chemicals and hormones surging through your body.
Body’s Response to Stress
Negative stress is also known as distress. It the condition of the body where it’s well
being is threatened or attacked.
Distress may result to increased may result to increased of heart rate, short and
shallow breathing, constriction of the blood vessel and insomnia.
The mind and the body are directly linked. The mind controls the function and the
activities of the body and the physical changes undergoes.Negative stressors can
result to mental and physical damages.

Stressors are both external situations and internal conditions that create problems.
