TEACHER’S ACTIVITY STUDENTS’ ACTIVITY
Preliminary Activities
A. Greetings
Good morning class! Good morning Ma’am!

B. Prayer
May I request everybody to please stand, let us (will stand and pray)
begin our day with a prayer. Ms. _______, kindly
lead the prayer.

C. Checking of Cleanliness
Before you take your seat please keep those (will keep things away, pick up papers and will arrange
things which are not related to our subject, pick all their chairs)
the pieces of papers under your chair, and arrange
your chairs properly.

You may now take your seats. Thank you!

D. Checking of Attendance
May I call on the secretary of the class. Are there
any absences for today?

(will stand up and answer) (I’m glad to say that there’s no absences for today.)

A. ENGAGE
Review the past lesson
Let’s have a short recap/ review of our past lesson.
Who among you remembered our lesson last Yesterday, we discussed about gravity and
meeting? Yes, ________ gravitational force.

Very Good!
(answers may vary but can include the following:
And what is gravitational force? Can you give me  Gravitational force of earth is the force which
one meaning of it? Yes, __________ pulls everything down towards the earth.
 Gravity is a force which pulls object towards the
center of the earth.
 It is the force of gravity which is responsible for
holding objects onto the surface of the earth.
Motivation
I prepared a short video about our lesson for today.
Please watch and understand the video. I will ask
some questions regarding the video after you
watch it. Are we clear? Yes Ma’am!

(The students watch the video)

What have you learned from the video? Yes, (answers may vary but can include the following:
_____.  Energy is the ability to do work.
 Kinetic and potential energy are the main forms
of energy.

B. EXPLORE

In order for you to learn more about the different (The students listen to the teacher).
types of energy, I prepared an activity.

The class will be divided into (4) four groups. The

The directions and procedures are already

written in the activity sheet; if you have a question
while doing the activity, just raise your hand.
After you finished the activity, each group (The students listen carefully).
will choose one or two representatives to present
your work. Ten (10) minutes for doing the activity
and three (3) minutes for the presentation. You
may now arrange your chairs silently. (The students arrange their chairs).

Your time to do the activity starts now!

(The different groups do the activity).
C. EXPLAIN

Let’s start the presentation; Group 1 will be the first (The representatives from Group 1 discuss and shows

Let’s have the work of Group 3. (The representatives from Group 3 discuss and shows
their work).

And for the last presenters, we have Group 4. (The representatives from Group 4 discuss and shows
their work).

Great job Group 4! Given them a round of (The students will give the Group 4 presenters a round

(The students pay attention).

I’m glad that all of you have accomplished correctly
the tasks that were given to you. For that, give
yourselves a big round of applause.

(The teacher checks the answers of the student).

I will be now announcing the total score of each

group for this activity, kindly listen well.
(The students listen to the teacher as he/(s)

(The students give themselves a round of applause.)

Congratulation everyone! Again, give yourself a
round of applause.
D. ELABORATE

(A PowerPoint Presentation about the moon will be (The students take a look at the PowerPoint
shown through the projector). Presentation).

Today, we will tackle and discuss about energy

and different types of energy.

What is Energy?
Kindly read Ms. ___________. Energy is the ability to do work.

Thank you!

(The teacher gives a brief explanation about

energy)
(The students listen)
There are two (2) main forms of energy. The
Potential and Kinetic Energy.

What is Potential Energy?

Potential Energy is the energy stored in an object.
Kindly read Ms. ____________.

Thank you!

Potential energy is a stored energy and the energy (The students listen)
of position-gravitational energy. There are several
forms/types of energy.

Chemical energy is energy stored in the bonds of

The first one is Chemical Energy, please read chemical compounds like atoms and molecules.
Ms.__________.

Thank you!

(The students listen)

The chemical energy is the most widely used type
of energy in the world, as it is crucial to the
existence of humans and the natural world.

The next one is Mechanical Energy. Mechanical Energy is the energy stored in objects by
Kindly read Ms.___________ tension. Mechanical energy can also be kinetic energy
when a moving object does work.

Thank you!

(The students listen)

(The teacher explains)

The third one is the Nuclear Energy.

Nuclear energy is the energy stored in the nucleus of

which helps to hold the atom together.
Thank you!

(The students listen).

(The teacher explains the what is nuclear energy.)

The last form of potential energy is the

Gravitational energy.

gravitational energy is stored.

Thank you!

(The students listen)

(The teacher explains gravitational energy.)

And now let’s move on to Kinetic Energy.

(The students listen.)

Kinetic Energy is the energy in motion. Just like the
potential energy, kinetic energy also has several
forms/types.

The first one is the Radiant Energy.

Radiant Energy is the energy of electromagnetic
Kindly read Ms. _________________. waves. These waves can travel through space.

Thank you!

(The students listen.)

(The teacher explains Radiant Energy.)

The next type is Thermal Energy.

What is Thermal Energy.

Thermal energy, or heat, is the vibration and

substances.

Thank you!
(The teacher explains.) (The students listen.)

The next one is Sound Energy.

Please read Ms. __________ Sound is the movement of energy through substances
in longitudinal waves.

Thank you!

(The teacher explains.) (The students listen.)

The last one is Electrical Energy.

Kindly read Ms.______ what is electrical energy. Electrical Energy is delivered by tiny charged particles
called electrons, typically moving through a wire.

Thank you!

(The teacher explains what is electrical energy.) (The students listen.)

Is there any questions class? (Will raise question if they have) or None.

I have a question, what do you think is the (answers may vary according to the students, there will

Any more ideas?  With out energy we can no longer use any kind
of machines or equipment that uses electric

importance of moon in our life)  Energy gives us the ability to do work.
 Sunshine is radiant energy which provides the
fuel and warmth that makes life on earth
possible.

E. EVALUATE

Prepare ½ sheet of paper.

Fold your paper into 2 parts, on the right side of
your paper label it as Potential Energy and on the
other side Label it as Kinetic Energy. You have is
to list all forms of energy that we tackle or discuss (The students listen.)

Is there any question regarding your assignment?

If none that would be all for today.
