-So ayun na nga uulitin ko. Good afternoon class so for our discussion we will be talking
about Jose rizal and Philippine Nationalism: Natuonal symbol.

So the learning outcomes would be ask examining the values highlighted---.

and of course advocating the values Rizals life encapsulates

-So we'll be talking about Executive Order no.75, 1993 which is criteria for national
heroes as determined by the National Heroes Committtee and then after that well
present the value cluster that contains different values that Rizals life encapsulates

So bakit nga ba namin pinanood sa inyo yung video kanina? That is because aalamin natin
kung ano nga ba ang status ni Jose Rizal as a national hero. So siya nga ba ng pambansang
bayani o hindi? Kung hindi man magkakaron tayo ng discussion kung paano nga ba
nagkaroon ng ibat ibang representation kay Rizal as a national symbol. Malalaman natin
na hindi lang pala pambansang bayani ang naging representasyon kay Rizal pagkatapos
ng ginawa niya para sating bayan.

-So eto ang una ididiscuss ko ang Executive order no 75 pero bago natin ito talakayin ay
atin munang alamin ang kahulugan ng isang bayani

Ang bayani ay ang mga taong handang gawin ang lahat at handang ibuwis maging ang
kanilang buhay para sa ikabubuti ng nakararami, sila din ang mga tao na naging bahagi ng
isang makasaysayang pangyayari at kinilala dahil sa kanilang katapangan.

-So alam niyo ba na walang mga batas, executive orders, even proclamations na officially
nagpoproclaim sa isang Filipino historical figure bilang national hero.

Ngunit, dahil sa kanilang significant roles in the process of nation building at sa kanilang
contribution sa history, there were laws enacted and proclamations issued honoring
these heroes.

Ang unofficial o traditional symbol naman ay ang kinikilala ng karamihan subalit sa sulat o
sa batas ay hindi o hindi pa ito rinerecognize bilang national symbol.

ang pag-asa ng bayan) at pati na rin ng pagappreciate sa mga achievement ng mga bayani

education,culture and sports bilang chairman, secretary of foreighn affairs and the
secretary of national defense bilang miyembro, para pagaralan at magrecommenda ng
proclamation ng national hero.

-lahat ng sangay ng gobyerno maging ang government owned or controlled corporation

ay kailangan suportahan ang national heroes committee sa pagperform ng mga function
nito.

-Ang mga pribadong sector ay kailangan sumuporta sa National committee

-ang National Historical Commission shall act as secretariat of the national heroes
committee

-at sa section 5 ang executive order na ito ay magtatake effect immediately

So the technical Committe of the National heroes committee ay nakapag adopt ng mga
criterias for national heroes.

So since the submission of the report/recommendations by the National Heroes

Committee.

No ACTION has been taken or walang nangyare.

-this was probably because this might trigger a flood of requests for proclamations.
Another possibility pa nga is baka magkaron ng mga debates involving historical
controversies about the sa ating mga bayani.

Proclamation 510 issued by fidel V. Ramos declared the year 1996 as the year of filipino
heroes as a tribute to all filipinos who directly and indirectly give meaning to the cause of
freedom, justice and, philippine infependence, and nationhood.

pambansang Symbolo alamin naman natin ang mga values ni Jose Rizal bilang national
symbol.
