identify the picture and encourage them to read the text in the poster. (Start with

H. Discussion:
1. Teacher asks the pupils to enumerate the words with final /n/ sound of -ne family
found in the story.
2. Teacher asks the pupils to identify the end letter of each word. Teacher
emphasizes the silent letter from the words with -ne family.
b. Game 2. The pupils are asked to dance if they heard that the word has a final
/n/ sound of -ne family and whistled a tune or sing if it’s not.
2. Blending the letters of the word with final /t/ sound of -te family.
Teacher produces the sounds of the letters in the word and blend them together.

Teacher instructs the pupils to read the story and to answer the questions that

It was sometime in June when I heard a tune from my back .As I
looked behind,it was Shune.Shune gave me a snack prune.Then I put it in a sand

2. Application: Exercise 2.
1. Teacher asks the pupils to supply the missing letter to form the words.
2. Then, the pupils will copy the words in their reading notebook.
M. Generalization:
Teacher asks the pupils the following questions:
a. What is the final sound of the words under -ne family?
b. What letters can we add to -ne family to form words?
c. How do we read the words: June, prune, dune, and tune?
V. EVALUATION
Read each item carefully. Write the letter of the correct answer on your reading
notebook.
VI. ASSIGNMENT
Teacher asks the pupils to copy in their assignment notebook the words with /n/ sound
of -ne family and encourages them to practice independent reading.
