- Set the scene “you are going to listen to Linda and
Mai identify family members.
- Play the recording and ask Ss to listen to the tape.
- T asks Ss to listen and repeat in chorus two times.
- Have whole class repeat all phrases a few times to
reinforce their pronunciation.
(10’) 2. Model sentence: Pairwork
A: Who’s that?
B: He’s my father. / She’s my mother.
- T models, get Ss in chorus.
- T write MS on the board, check intonation, meaning
and get SS to copy.
* Practice: Point and say:
- Elicit the characters in the pictures and their names.
- Point to the first picture and model the task.
- Ask Ss to repeat chorally.
- Ask Ss to repeat individually.
- Call on Ss to perform their task at the front of the class.
The rest of the class observer and give comments.

- Have Ss work in pairs.
- Display in class, others comment.
- Listen and correct.

- Group work. Pupils practice singing and doing the
actions in groups.
- Call on one group to perform the song at the front of
the class.
- Have class sing the song again to reinforce their

- Have Ss trade the answers in pairs for correction
- Call on some Ss to report their answers. Others listen
and comment.

- Get Ss to answer the ages of their family members -

- Make a few questions to check pupils’ comprehension
of the reading text.
- Have the whole class read each line of the dialogues
