The purpose of this Working Method Statement as guide for Extension Belt
Conveyor A-121 and B-131 in RMH Open Yard the details of MECHANICAL.

This Construction Method Statement Covers for all the activities related to
Mechanical works in PT. Krakatau Posco area RMH Open Yard.

4. WORK EXECUTION

4.1. Install Frame & Roller Conveyor

Roller Conveyor is a type of conveyor consisting of various rollers which can later
move material of provide bearings for conveyor belt so that it can move material more easily

3 Main Component on roll conveyor

1. ( Roller) The cylindrical roll pipe is the raw material that is usually used as the
framework of the roller conveyor.

2. ( Frame ) The roller conveyor frame is formed with a cut hole that is useful as the
position of the roller axle. The axle of roller will then be tightened on the frame so
that the axle does not rotate in the hole in the frame.

3. (Poles ) The support poles on the roller conveyor system are used to help position
the frame when assembling the roller.

In the roller installation stage of the roller conveyor, what must be considered is the

levelness of elevation and reinforcement in bolt and nut installation.

Mobilization and installation using TMC (Truck Mounted Crane)

4.2. Install & Splicing Belt Conveyor

Belt conveyor is a material moving machine along the horizontal direction or with a certain
slope continuously.
Conveyor belt installation steps:
1. Prepare spare Belt Conveyor.
2. Measurement Belt Conveyor.
3. Roll out Belt Conveyor, Using a winch
4. Cutting Belt Conveyor.
5. Stripping process for joints.
6. Conveyor Belt Glue process.

7. Setting tension conveyor and test running belt conveyor

4.3. Dismantling existing drive & Install New Drive

Existing drive must be released (Motor, Gear box, Brake, Pulley, etc). Do lock out and Tag out
on the power source. Use crane for lifting and moving
When installing a new drive, use the crane when lifting and setting, the position it in the
prepared place. Check with the dial indicator to ensure the flatness of the equipment.
Power connection to the motor, do the test running with user PT. Krakatau Posco

4.4. Dismantling existing Tail & Install New Tail

Existing tail must be released (Tail pulley, Frame), remove the attached bolt fastener, and
carry out the lifting with a crane.
In the installation of new tail, use a crane and take a flat level measurement with a dial
indicator.

5. SAFETY PRECAUTION
Safety will be the first consideration and the highest priority. The Concrete work process will
follow safety viewpoints, following:
5.1 Make sure the necessary document prior to work is being approved by autorized
personnel;

5.2 Ensure the risk of work to be performed, prior to start have been assessed and the
countermeasures have been determined. Make sure HITRA are cascaded to the workers
and clearly understood before working starts;
5.3 Make sure “Tool Box Meeting” in working place is conducted before starting work;
5.4 Ensure all workers are wearing proper PPE during taking responsibility;

5.5 Make sure all tools and equipment are checked prior to use and regular checking shall be
done;
5.6 Safety sign and hard barricade should be placed surrounding the location and as per
directed by Contractor. Clear and safety for access go to pouring concrete area;

5.7 The casting concrete which using crane and bucket shall be submitted the lifting plan and
work at height certificate before start the activity (if needed);
5.8 The concrete work which is more than 1.2 meter high below ground level, should be
summit the confined space permit;
5.9 The site survey process should not be done inside barricade area;

5.10 Proper lighting must be prepared for work at night;

5.11 All vehicles and equipment that will exit the work area or project must be cleaned first.
