Name: Kent Daryl P. Olivenza

Course: 3rd year BSOA

Sports: Arnis

Years of playing: 7

Merits

#1 Oo nageenjoy ako, sa katunayan nga hinahanap hanap ko ang paglalaro ng Arnis. Kasi diba nag pendemic
maraming kailangang sundin kaya hindi natutuloy ang mga laban.

#2 Para sakin ginagawa ko siyang daan malagpasan ang nga problema dahil sa arnis, kasi nung nagttraining pa
pag may problema niyaya ko ang mga kateammates ko para magtraining hanggang sa nalilinawan nako sa
problema minsan nakakalimutan na, paguwi ko sa bahay parang wala nalang nangyari ganon.

#3 Para sakin ano siya Hobby, kasi kahit walang responsibilidad gagawin at gagawin ko parin siya. Kasi ito
narin yung gusto kong gawin din, pagtraining, magpalakas makalaban sa competition, manalo kasama ang team
ganon, hindi ko siya basta pinapabayaan kasi marami narin akong naranasan kaya hindi ko rin basta
mabitawbitawan tong arnis.

#4 Kagaya nga ng sinabi ko kanina, minsan pagnagaarnis ako ginagawa ko siyang oang relax sa sarili ko.
Ngayon palagi kasi akong magisa dito sa bahay so medyo naboboring wala akong magawa then nagchchat ako
sa mga kateam ko dito sa Quezon na mag training kami, which is ang mga kateam ko naman is ganun rin ang
mindset.

#5 Para sakin. Oo sa tagal ko naring nagaarnis, di ko rin maiwasan na mainis sa mga kalaban, pero habang
tumatagal nasasanay narin ako. Nageenjoy ako at sobrang sarap maglaro lalo na kung nakapag ensayo ng
maayos.

Demerits

#1 Sa ngayon hindi na, pero yung mga kapanahunan ng high school ko madalas naiinis ako o nababagot lalo na
yung mga time na nagppraktis kami ng anyo kasi paulit ulit, pagnagkamali ang isa uulit na naman kaya hindi rin
maiwasan ma istress. Pero ngayon hindi na kasi college na madali ng makasabay ang team
dahil matured. Ganun kuya.

#2 Noon kuya nakakaramdam ako nga Senior highschool, kasi dinadamdam kopa yung mga paninigaw ng
coach namin na umaabot pa sa pagabsent ko sa training. Pero ngayon hindi na bale tinitignan ko na yun as
gabay sakin, kagaya nalang yung nagalit si Coach Vhir kasi bihira lang ako nakakaensayo hindi na sumasama
loob ko parang nagmatured narin ako ganun.

#3 Sakin naman kuya ay hindi naman ako nawawalan ng oras sa ngayon, pero siguro pag nag f2f na baka
mawalan narin ako ng oras sa ibang bagay, kasi nasa probinsya ako kailangan kong lumuwas ng maynila para
magaral at magtraining naka focus sa school kaya mangyayari lang iyon pag lumuwas nako ng maynila.

#4 Ano kasi kuya noong hindi pa naman ako nagaarnis para nagttraining narin ako dahil buhay probinsya nga
mga ginagawa tulad ng pagiigib pag gagatong tas marami pa. Siguro kuya yung marelax ang isip yan ang bihira
ko nalang magawa. Kasi hindi talaga ako sanay ng nakahilata lang. Kumbaga sanay ako ng may ginagawa
ganun kuya.

#5 Hindi naman sa nagpapagutom para saktuhan lang ang kain, para syempre makagalaw ng maayos sa laban at
hindi ka nahihirapan. Kasi madalas naman diba kuya tanghali na nagsisimula ang laban, siguro hindi muna ako
nagtatanghalian hanggang hindi nako nagugutom kasi focus na sa laro.

Mentah health (positive)

#1 Yes kuya meron. Tulad nito ngayon kuya na pandemic parang hindi pa naman ako nawawalan ng pagasa
para makatraining sa Pup kasi gustung gusto talaga na maranasan yung ganong experience. Tsaka hindi lang
naman bilang atleta syempre natuto tayo sa pang araw araw, at may nadagdagan sakin sa mga nakakausap
ganun kuya.

#2 Oo kuya. Dati talaga mahiyain ako noong nagsisimula palang peri syempre habang tumatagal lumalabas
narin yung kulit tapos natututo makipag salamuha sa mga kateam ko. Nakakapagbonding sa training at pagtapos
tapos ng training nagiging goodvibes kasi nakakatawa raw ako.

#3 Oo kuya, nagakaroon siya ng epekto sa pagiisip ko kung ano ba talaga ang gusto ko, kasi Office
administration ang kurso pero nagiging masaya sa pagaarnis tsaka nageenjoy sa pagtuturo, parang yung ano
kuya vision ba na pagtuturo siguro ang hilig ko ganun narerealize minsan habang nageensayo tapos nagugulat
nalang ako nageexcel sa ganun sa Arnis.

#4 Oo kuya ang laki ng epekto ng paglalaro sakin kasi nga diba mahiyain ako dati pero ngayon marunong narin
akong makipagusap, nakakapagturo nako sa mga bata. Parag maturity ba kuya. Tapos nakakapag coach pag
wala ang coach namin sa laban.

#5 Oo kuya, share ko lang yung may mga nagong players na inaaya ako na maginom gumimil hindi ako
sumama kasi parang wala naman magiging epekto sakin na maganda, pero hindi naman masama ang ginagawa
parang nageenjoy lang, siguro nagfofocus ako sanpageensayo gawa narin ng may event dito sa Quezon na
pinaghahandaan ko kaya siguro ganon nalang ang pagkontrol ko

Negative

#1 Oo kuya, di rin maiwasan na maisip yan kasi marami rin dito sa amin ang naiinjured kaya naiisip ko rin.
Nageensayo ako pag pwede tsaka kasama nag team pero alalay nalang di tulad dati kasi umiiwas lang sa mga
injury gawa narin ng nainjury nako dati nadala nalang.

#2 Hindi kuya kasi para naman sakin iyon siguro sa umpisa nakakahiya syempre baka tawagin na baliw, pero
kung para sa ikabubuti ko hindi nako mahihiya babawi nalang pag gumaling

#3 Oo kuya, madalas nararanasan yan pag lumalaban ako, pero handa naman akong harapin kasi hindi naman
na bago sakin yung ganong pakiramdam, parang naililipat sa magandang paraan para syempre Manalo yung
naman palagi ang gusto ng mga player.

#4 Oo kuya, dati nung 1st year pa, parang nahihirapan ako magtraining sa bahay kasi maliit lang sala namin eh.
Tapos pinapaglitan ni Nanay kasi dito pako sa sala. Minsan hindi nako umaatedlnd ng training parang gusto ko
mapagisa pero nalagpasan ko naman kasi nay kabatch na taga dito kaya doon ako nag ttraining.

#5 Oo kuya, madalas nangyayari to pag nagtutune up sa manila, parang najujudge kami. Pero lagi kaming
sinasabihan ni Coach na wag sila pakinggan maniwala sa team ganun parang nadevelop narin habanv tumatagal.

Caused

#1 Oo kuya, nito lang ako natuto magbasketball, kasi mahiyain talaga ako kaya di ako
nagkainteres sa basketball pero di naman ako kagaling shoot lang.

#2 Ahhh kasi kuya nong una parang iniisip ko kung may patutunguhan pa tong online training kasi
sa bahay lang hindi naman makakalaban sa totoong laro.

#3 Hindi kuya kasi, nasasayangan ako sa panahon eh, Naniniwala kasi na matatapos din tong Covid kaya di ako
nawalan ng pagasa, muntik lang pala

#4 Ahh syempre kuya sa mga kabatch ko dito sa team natin, nagkaroon kasi kami ng open forum tapos yun
narealize ko na hindi lang pala ako nakakaramdam ng ganito kaya nagpurisigi na magtraining kahit online

#5 Hindi kuya, kasi masaya ang sports lalo na sa sinasalihan martial arts, marami pakong dapat matutunan tsaka
excited sa mga larong paparating ganun kuya.

Merits

#1 Opo kuya, parang ano balik loob sa training kasi matagal tagal rin natengga since highschool pa

#2 Para sakin kuya ano eh, nahihiwalay ko siya naseseparate ko siya habang nageensayo ako narerelax ang isip
ko. Pagtapos ng training lumilinaw na pagiisip ko. Narerefresh ganun kuya.

#3 Responsibility ko siya kuya the way na may goal ako para sa sarili ko. Kasi gusto ko talaga matuto at
magexcel sa pagaarnis, naiinspired ako sa inyo mga seniors na malalim na ang kaalaman sa sports.

#4 Oo kuya nababawasan, minsan pa nga nawawala nalang parang nakaklimutan lalo na pag nageensayo tapos
kasama ko pa mga ka batch ko sa Team nagkakaroon kami ng bonding, nagiging stress reliever ko rin kuya.

#5 Oo kuya lumilinaw ang isip ko dahil sa training kasi gumagana lahat sa pagneensayo eh kasama na rin yung
utak ko. Lalo na oag meeting na marami akong nalalaman at dapat ifocus sa sarili kaya imbis na ma badmood
ginagawa ko nalang yung sa traininh para mas improve pa.

Demerits

#1 Sakin kuya hindi, kasi nageenjoy ako sa pageensayo nagiging lifestyle ko narin parang hindi kumpleto pag
hindi ako nageensayo para makapaghanda sa mga dadating na laban kuya.

#2 Sakin po kuya hindi, pag natatalo kasi ako sa laban noon binuboost ng coach namin yung confidence ko para
bumawi, sinasabi niya na di pa naman natatapos sa competition ang lahat dahil marami pa naman laban na
dadating. Tsaka hindi pa tapos yung season ko. Kaya nadala ko to hanggang nag college kaya bihira ako
malungkot pag natatalo

#3 Sakin kuya hindi, kasi part na ng lifestyle ko ang sports, ginagawa kong masaya ang pageensayo kaya
minsan oag nagttraining tayo palagi akong nakangiti. Parang yun narin siguro ang fun activities ko.

#4 Opo kuya, Pag gusto ko minsan magbasketball dito samin ng hapon eh hapon ang training natin, parang
pahinga ko rin yung basketball kasi ibang sports kahit nakakapagod pero syempre aattend ako ng training.
Tsaka minsan pag inaantok ako pero hapon ng training kailangan gising ganun kuya.

#5 Ahhh dito kuya di ko lang maiwasan, siguro sa kaba narin dala ng laban tsaka madalas kasi bagong
maglunch talaga ako lumalaban kasi bantam weight ako eh, diba kuya inuuna yung mga magagaan bago nga
heavy weight. Kaya siguro nagugutom ako pero wala naman nagiging epekto yun sa performance ko

Mental health (positive)

#1 Oo kuya isanna diyan sa nakakadagdag sakin is yung discipline bilang atleta. Na hindi dapat gawan ng
dahilan yung pagabsent sa training maliban kung emergency, kasi responsibility ganun kuya naging atelta ako
kasi may goal ako. Tsala yung time management kuya medyo inaayos ko rin para di ako nalilito sa oras.

#2 Oo kuya kasi nagiging maayos naman ako sa mga kabatch ko, kay coach, sa inyong mga seniors tsaka nasa
good circle of friends naman ako kuya. Tsaka nagiging masaya kayo pag nageensayo na kasama kaya sa tingin
ko naman nagagawa ko yung positive relationships sa Team.

#3 Oo kuya, ngayon pag may gagawin ako na isang bagay iniisip ko muna kung anong kahihinatnan nito kung
mabuti ba o hindi. Para nadedevelop ko ang ganun gawain dahil sa sports.

#4 Oo kuya tulad nga po sa time management, kasi dati parang ang gulo ng oras ko, kung anong
naiisipan kong gawin ginagawa ko tapos may naiipit na oras na dapat doon pala. Ayun kuya naisasaayos ko
yung oras sa bawat gagawin.

#5 Oo kuya pero hindi ko pa siya napeperfect parang nasa proseso palang ako, palagi naman akong nakafocus at
kilala ko naman sarili ko. Minsan humihingi ako ng payo kela coach, palagi ko silang ka chat para makahingi
ng gabay sa kanila.

Negative

#1 Sometimes kuya Oo, siguro dahil sa mga ka batch ko na magagaling kasi ako nakakapag training naman
pero medyo advance lang talaga mga kabatch ko siguro, batak sila nong highschool kaya ganun, pero ginagawa
ko naman palagi best ko para makahabol sa kanila.

#2 Hindi kuya, kasi kung makakatulong naman sakin hindi ko naman ikakahiya kung maganda naman magiging
resulta. Edi mas magiging maayos ang sarili ko ganun.

#3 Oo kuya, inaaccept ko naman yung mga unhealthy pressure kasi hindi naman maiiwasan yun. Nagiisip
nalang ako ng mga positive sa utak ko lalo na pag nasa competition, si coach nagmonotivate sakin napakalaking
tulong nun para sakin.

#4 Sakin kuya hindi naman. Pagnararanasan ko yung mga ganyang bagay madalas nakikipagusal ako sa mga
kabatch ko, humihingi ako ng tips kela Kent kung paano execute yung galaw. Para next training maayos na
performance ko.

#5 Oo kuya nadevelop ko nayan, kasi palagi akong kinakausap ng coach ko dati na magfocus ka lang,
makakabawi tayo tsaka di pa naman huli para magensayo. Kaya ganun nalalaban ko yung anxiety pag may time
na dumadaan sakin.

Caused

#1 Oo kuya basketball tsaka badminton para hindi ako natetengga sa bahay, napagpapawisan parin

#2 Hindi naman nawala yung passion kuya, siguro tinatamad ganun kasi nga online training, sa bahay ka lang
parang useless naman, ganun kuya naiisip ko dati.

#3 Ah hindi kuya, kasi masaya ako sa sports na napili ko marami akong natututunan.

#4 Hindi naman nawala, parang sinipag ako kasi nahahawa siguro sa mga kabatch ko nagchchat sa
gc nagaaya parang naeenganyo nako non hanggang sa ganito purisigido ako.

#5 Ay wala kuya, gusto ko itong sports kasi masaya lumalakas ang pisikal ko pati utak.

Merits

#1 Oo kuya, palagi naman ako nageenjoy pag gusto ko yung isang bagay.

#2 Oo kuya, lalo na sa problema mo ko sa pamilya, nagiging stable yung utak tsaka sa pagka busy ko sa training
hindi ako nababarkada.

#3 Siguro kuya naging hobby ko, kasi sa probinsya namin parang arnis yung libangan. Kasi magkakapitbahay
naman kaming magkaka teammate. Ganun kuya

#4 Oo kuya, minsan pag magulo sa bahay meron kasi kaming pwesto dito na makakaibigan na dun kamj
nagaarnis. Pag magulo sa bahay nageensayo ako magisa doon. O kaya niyaya ko sila mag laro.

#5 Oo kuya, nagiging maayos ako pag magttraining syempre naiiwas ako sa problema tsaka masaya talaga ako
oag nageensayo

Demerits

#1 Oo kuya. Minsan kuya nagkakasabay kasinyung academic ko sa training tapos yung mga junior namin
pasaway, kaya minsan naiinis ako kasi hindi sila agad agad sumusuno. Kaya ang ginagawa ko humihinga muna
ako pag nagagalit ako. Para di masama lumabas sa bibig ko o pakikitungo sa kanila

#2 Oo kuya, dumating sa punto na kinausap kona si Coach Migz para mag quit ganun, pero
pinayuhan ako ni Coach na hindi lang naman ako nakakaranas ng ganong nararamdaman kaya narealize ko rin.

#3 Hindi kuya, kasi libanganan narin namin tong Arnis, tsaka sanay na rin po.

#4 Oo kuya dati siguro high school parang balak ko magstop muna kasi magrelax muna ganon, pero yung
dumating ang pandemic parang nakakabakot dito sa bahay namimiss ko magtraining ganun kuya

#5 Hindi kuya, kumakain naman ako ng sakto parandi mabigat sa tiyan. Hindi kasi ako nakakapagisip ng
maayos pag di kumakain.

Mental health (positive)

#1 Oo kuya, dahil sa pagaatleta ko naging maayos ang lahat naging disipinado ako, kasi hindi lang naman para
lumakas yung goal ni Coach samin pati yung paguugali.

#2 Oo kuya kasi magkakapitbahay naman kaming magkakateam kaya di na kami nagkakalayo tsaka dahil sa
arnis umaayos narin ang pamilya ko siguro dati masama ugali ko , naayos lang ni coach jaya nagbago narin ako.

#3 Oo kuya, kasi nacocontrol ko na sarili ko hindi nako nadadala ng galit di tulad dati na naiinis agad ako.

#4 Oo kuya, palagi since nagsimula ako maging player. Palaging may nadedevelop sa isip ko. Nagiging
maganda palagi kinalalabasan

#5 Oo kuya, tulad ng sagot ko sa isa mas lalonakong nagmatured gawa ng pagiging player.

Mental health (negative)

#1 Oo kuya, Noong nagpandemic walang training natakot ako kasi baka humina ako, siguro kasi palagi akong
may medal sa competition. Nappressure ako.

#2 Oo kuya, siguro sa una mahihiya ako kasi di ko nakan ginusto yon. Pero matatanggap ko rin sa huli ganun
kuya.

#3 Oo kuya, sanay nako sa ganyan palagi nay ganyan sa laban tsaka pag dumadayo kami sa ibang school.
Masasanay ka nalang talaga.

#4 Oo kuya, pag nangyayari yan sakin pumupunta ako sa bilyaran o sa court para doon

#5 Oo kuya nadevelop ko naman siya sa dami narin ng negatibo na naiisip ko pinipili ko parin
ituloy.

Caused

#1 bilyar tsaka basketball kuya, yung arnis kasi bawal pa nun eh.

#2 Oo kuya kasi sa stress sa acads, parang yung training ko nahahati na wala na sa focus

#3 Hindi naman kuya, kasi masaya pag naglalaro hindi ko man nararanasan ulit pero dadating din na magiging
normal na

#4 Mga ka teammates ko tapos kayong mga seniors namin kuya, na nageensayo kahit stress sa acads

#5 Muntik lang kuya, pero hindi natuloy kasi narealize ko na may chance pa naman at magandang school ang
napasukan ko.

Merits

#1 Oo kuya, kasi hindi naman nawala yign skills kahit na matagal akong nahinto. Tsaka may mga bagong
kaibigan sa team kayo po mga seniors namin.

#2 Oo kuya, kunwari nasa event syempre makakalimutan mo muna yung mga problema even if minor man or
major, kasi nakafocus tayo sa laban. Sometimes nagiging daam rin yung sports para masolusyunan in a sense na
hindi naman related. Ganun kuya

#3 Responsibility kuya, kasi kahit hindi naman ako sabihan nagttraining pag may tirang oras o kayang isiksik
umaattend ako.

#4 Oo kuya, kasi nawawala yung init ng ulo sa pagssports samahan pa ng kwelang kateam
na palaging masaya sa training. Kaya nababawasan talaga siya

#5 Oo kuya palagi, kasi kami pinaka marami sa batch parang solid palagi sa team natin.

Demerits

#1 Hindi pa naman nangyayari kuya. Kasi kababalik ko lang siguro yung acads na gagawa ko naman sa time
management

#2 Hindi ko pa naman naeexperience, kasi mababait naman lahat sa team natin sa PUP

#3 Hindi naman kuya, kasi palagi lang ako nasa bahay. Hindi naman ako magala , tsaka palipat lipat kaya wala
akong ka close noon.

#4 Oo kuya, example nayan pag nagbabakasyon family ko hindi ako nakakasama kasi summer training natin
kaya ganun.

#5 ayy Hindi kuya, kumakain ako kahit nasa event.

Mental health (Positive)

#1 Oo kuya nagiging disiplinado nako sa oras tsaka hindi nako napang hihinaan ng loob.

#2 Nadevelop ko naman yung positive relationship sa mga kateam kasi magkakasama kami solid ganun pero sa
inyong mga senior hindi pa masyado.

#3 Hindi pa masyado kuya, kasi minsan gumugulo isip ko sa ibang bagay pero nasa process naman.

#4 Oo kuya nakakapekto talaga lalo na kababalik ko lang sa sports. Nagpprocess sa utak ko pakunti kunti

#5 Oo kuya, kasi umaayos yung mental health, di tulad na wala pa ako sa sports. Tsaka hindi ako madaling
maconvince ng ibang tao kasi dati palasama ako eh.

Negative

#1 Hindi naman kuya, kasi pagnatatakot para sakin parang na loose na yung passion mo eh, Oo darating sa
ganun pero may chance naman palagi.

#2 Hindi kuya, kung gagaling naman ako ayos lang.

#3 Oo kuya, pero nadevelop ko narin yung oagiging positive kaya nalalabanan ko siya

#4 Yes kuya, kasi taong bahay lang ako eh kaya pag nagsosolo ang lungkot talaga, pero di naman
nagtatagal gumagawa ako ng ibang libangan hanggang sa marealize ko na dapat hi ndi ganito kasi sayang sa
oras ganun kuya.

#5 Oo kuya nadevelop kona kasi mahiyain talaga ako eh. Nakikipagsalamuha nako ngayon lalo na sa mga
kabatch ko tsaka kay Coach

Caused

#1 Wala kuya, kasi busy sa business noon.

#2 Kasi kuya nakakatamad talasa kasi sa bahay lang, hindi actual tapos minsan nakakapangdaya pa ako sa
sobrang katamaran kaya minsan gusto ko nalang huminto.

#3 Oo kuya, pero ang nagbigay sakin ng sign eh yung nanalo si Ate dhang (Arnis Senior) parang gusto ko rin
magka ganun kaya sinipag na ulit ako

#4 sa mga ka batch, tsaka nainspired ako sa mga Seniors.

-No, I just constantly remind myself that this too shall pass and everything will be better overtime.

-No, it never came to mind that i really don't like playing sports, it was more of an "what if by the time i return

There was a lot of self sabotaging going through that stage and I'm glad I'm way past that.

- Being engaged in sports activities, gave me a feeling of Nirvana. An Ideal happiness where you don't
have to worry about anything, it's a way of releasing stress and anxiety.

- As someone who grew up being widely introduced to sports, I've been playing since I was 8, being engaged in sports
and having athletic commitment is something that I don't consider as a responsibility. For me, Playing sports is a freewill
it is actually a way of coping up and distressing. Constantly doing something you really love and never get tired of, is an
act of passion and being driven and not a responsibility at all.

4. Do sports help you lessen your burden? Why or why not?

- Sports indeed help me lessen the burden, I am enrolled as a student-athlete in PUP and get to have the chance to
attain quality education free of any charges. I get to experience the privilege of studying for free in one of the top state
universities in the country.

- Yes, after having a very long tough day, playing sports gives me relief and a feeling of distress. I get to have the chance
to run away from all the problems and worries for a certain period of time and i get to have the chance to leave
everything behind. For a moment I am genuinely happy and free.

1. Do you think Sport has been a source of stress for you? If yes, how do you handle it?

- I don't think sports have ever been a source of stress for me, yes I felt frustrated sometimes especially when it seems
like we are about to lose the game or even after we lose the game. But instead of stressing about it, I use it as a driving
force to be better than who I was in the previous game.

- Being a student and having an athletic commitment plus having a responsibility at home can actually sometimes give us
a hard time managing our schedules and meeting our requirements on time. But every time I experience it, instead of
sulking and letting my emotions control me, I always start working on the easiest and simplest task I have on my list.

- Life is like an entangled string, it will remain tangled until you figure out what your purpose is. It just happens to me

- As an athlete you know that once you get it to the team, you already have a support system from your teammates and
coaches. I also experience, building a bond and friendship from someone on the opponent's team.

- On a daily basis, as a student athlete. I tend to outgrow and to outdo the version of who I was yesterday. I am devoted

- I can describe myself as the type of a student-athlete and an individual with a very independent attitude. I have learned

- I never have experience being labeled as someone who needs psychological assistance. Well, in fact, everyone around

- Having dual responsibility such as as a student and having athletic commitment can sometimes be draining.

Those pressures are the challenges that taught me to become resilient, it taught me to handle difficult situations, it

- I am an introvert, everytime I interact with people inside or outside the court, I always look forward to regaining my
energy by having my alone time. After a long time of being socially engaged I felt that I needed to isolate myself for a
