SKILLS PEDAGOGY (STRATEGY/ACTIVITY)

Content Standard: Pre-lesson: Pupils are given a word search puzzle to complete.

Main: 4.3 Communicate with appropriate language form

and style for a range of purposes in print and digital media
Lesson delivery:

1. Pupils look through Exercise 9 in Year 2 Step by Step Writing

Complementary: 1.2 Understand meaning in a variety of
familiar contexts
Learning Standard:
Main: 4.3.2 Spell a narrow range of familiar high
frequency words accurately in guided writing
Complementary: 1.2.2 Understand with support specific
information and details of simple sentences
Module Part 1. Pupils do the recap.
2. Pupils can ask if there are any words that they don’t understand.
3. Pupils are guided through Year 2 Step by Step Writing Module
Part 1.
4. Pupils are called out randomly to make sentences based on a
different substitution table on the board.
5. Pupils complete section C and D in the module.
Post-lesson: A spelling quiz is conducted.

OBJECTIVES TEACHING AIDS:
