WEEKLY LEARNING PLAN

Date: August 30 – September 2, 2022

Quarter: 1 Grade Level: 11 Section: HUMSS A & GAS

Week: 2 Learning Area: Earth and Life Science
MELCs: Explain that the Earth consists of four subsystems, across whose boundaries matter and energy flow.
Identify common rock-forming minerals using their physical and chemical properties.

Day and Objectives Topic Classroom-based Activities Home-based Activities

Time

1  Explain that the Origin and Structure  Begin with the classroom routine:
2:00-3:00 Earth consists of of the Earth -Prayer
(HUMSS four subsystems, (The Subsystems) -Reminder of the classroom and safety protocol
A) -Checking of Attendance
across whose
-Quick “kamustahan”
3:00-4:00 boundaries matter
 Introduce the topic and MELC.
(GAS) and energy flow.  Review the past lesson.
 Randomly present some compositions/parts of four
Earth subsystems and ask the students to classify
them into four groups without telling them how they will
classify them. After the activity, ask them if what was
their basis of classifying those things.
 Show photos of four subsystems and let the students
describe them based on the given photos.
 Go back to the previous activity and ask the students
to correct their groupings based on the four
subsystems.
 Show a diagram representing the interaction among
the four subsystems and let the students explain it by
giving real scenarios that show the interaction among
the subsystems.

 Ask: How important are the four systems? What will

happen if one of it will be damaged/destroyed? How
significant is your role in this interaction?

2  Identify common Minerals  Begin with the classroom routine:

(GAS) properties.  Review the past lesson.
 Show a real rock and allow the students to observe it.
Then, ask if what comprises the rock.
 Discuss the physical and chemical properties of
minerals
 Using their properties, let the students identify the
common rock-forming mineral.
 Ask: How important are the properties of minerals?

3&4  Identify common Minerals Take at least 5 photos of minerals that are found in our day to
