 Now that the learner knows how to use dictionary and
thesaurus, tell him/her to get a dictionary, then find the
meaning of ten words that are unfamiliar to him/her.
S/He may use online resources for this activity.
 Assessment (Post assessment)
 Using the sample page of a dictionary on page 21,
instruct the learner to find the meaning of the words in
Column A from the choices in Column B.
 Once done, have him/her use the thesaurus for the
next activity. Ask him/her to complete the table with
the information needed. Use the answer sheet
provided by the teacher.
7. Additional Activity
 For the last activity, ask the learner to look for words
in a dictionary, in a thesaurus, or even in online
sources that start with the letter of his/her name.
Show the example found on page 23. Do this on the
ans sheet provided by the teacher.
