and minutes that have passed since midnight or noon.

 Analogue Clock-Showing the face of the clock

 Discussing parts of the cloc

o Based on the Photo shown,

there are 5 parts of the clock.
 Hour Hand- this is
the small hand on
the clock, this
indicates the hour of
the time.
 Minute Hand- this
is the long or big
hand on the clock, it
indicates the minute of the time.
 Second Hand- this is the thin and average hand
on the clock whose continuously moving around
the clock because it indicates the seconds.
 Hour Numbers- this are the numbers 1-12 on the
clock. It symbolizes as the hour of the time
 Minute Lines- this are the small lines around the
clock and this indicates the number of minutes.
 Development  Counts in clock
o There 60 minutes in an hour.
o The minutes on the clock
are counted by five as
there 5 minute lines
between each number.
There are 5 minute from
12 to 1, 1 to 2, 2 to 3, and
so on.

 Telling the time

o The small hand points to

the hours and the big
hand points to the
minutes.
o When the big hand
points to 12 it means the
time is o’clock.
o The time on the picture
is 3 o’clock.

 Quarters of the clock

o The clock has 4 eaual

sections so we have 4
quarters.
o o There are fifteen
minutes in each of the
four quarters.

 Distinguishing A.M. and P.M.

o The standard 24-hour day is broken up into two parts by the
12-hour clock. 12:00 A.M. is MIDNIGHT
o When we say A.M., it represents the Roman phrase ante
meridiem which means "before midday". This is the time
just before the sun has arrived on the other side of the
meridian.
o P.M. refers to post meridiem or "after midday" – after the
sun has crossed the meridian.

C. Engagement  Activity

o Telling Time Dominoes

 In this activity, there are printed analogue and

digital clock dominos prepared. The class will be
divided into 4 groups which stands for the 4
quarters of the clock. Group 1 will arrange the
quarter past the hour. Group 2 for half past the
hour, Group 3 for quarter to hour and Group 4 for
the next o’clock.
D. Assimilation  Each student is responsible for bringing their own analog paper
clock to class. They are tasked for displaying the precise and
accurate time on their paper clock in accordance with the digital
