सकुलेंट्स के बारे में जाने:- ये पौधे कैक्टस प्रजाति के पौधे है जो पानी को अपनी पतियोों में इकठ्ठा करके रखिे

है , इन पौधोों को
दु तनया भर में इनकी खूबसूरि पतियोों और इनकी बनाबट के तिए जाना जािा है

प्रजातियाां- सकुिेंट्स की मुख्यिः २ प्रकार होिे है जो खुद में बहुि बड़ा पररवार बनािे है
1. Euphoria
2. Haworthia

सबसे बेहिरीन िापमान इन पौधोों के तिए होिा है 15-25 तिग्री सेल्सियस कुछ सकुिेंट्स 35 तिग्री िक भी अपने आप
को बचा के रखिे है अगर इनकी दे खभाि अच्छे से हो िो

दे खभाि के िरीके
सकुिेंट्स की दे खभाि बहुि ही जरुरी होिी है ये बहुि ही सोंवेदनशीि पौधे होिे है , अगर इनकी रखरखाव में गितियाों होिी है िो ये
पौधे अपनी पतियाों तगरना चािू कर दे िे है और धीरे धीरे ख़िम हो जािे है , आइये जानिे है इनकी दे खभाि और रखरखाव से
सम्बोंतधि कुछ बािे

गमला- इन पौधोों की रखरखाव में गमिे का बहुि ही मत्वपूर्ण योगदान होिा है चूोंतक इन पौधोों की जड़ें ज्यादा बड़ी नहीों होिी है
िो इनको बहुि बड़े गमिो की जरुरि नहीों होिी है 3 से 4 इों च के गमिे में इनको िगाया जा सकिा है , सबसे ज्यादा ध्यान दे ने वािी
जो बाि है वो ये की गिमे में पानी ठहरना नही चातहए , इसके तिए गमिे में नीचे बहुि ही अच्छे छे द होने चातहए िातक पानी दे िे
समय अगर ज्यादा हो जाये िो नीचे से तनकि जाये गमिे के छे द के ऊपर थमाणकोि या पुराने गमिे के टू टे तहस्से रल्सखये िातक छे द
बोंद न हो

अगर सोंभव हो िो मिट्टी के गमिे उपयोग में िाये ये मिट्टी के िापमान को ठों िा रखिे है या तिर तसरे तमक के गिमे भी अच्छा तवकल्प
है बस ध्यान रखे गिमे के नीचे बहुि ही अच्छे छे द हो. अगर ये उपिब्ध न हो िो प्लाल्सिक के गमिे में भी इनको िगाया जा सकिा है

❖ मिट्टी: सकुिेंट्स ही नहीों सभी प्रकार के पौधोों की सबसे अच्छी साथी होिी है मिट्टी , इन पौधोों के तिए मिट्टी ऐसी होनी चातहए
जो बहुि ही ज्यादा पानी को जमा करके न रखे जैसा की पहिे बिाया सुकुिेंट्स अपनी पतियोों में पानी को जमा करके रखिे है
और इनकी जड़ें बहुि ही पििी और छोटी होिी है िो इनको पानी की बहुि ज्यादा जरुरि नहीों होिी इसीतिए इनके तिए
ये पौधोों की जड़ोों को सिा दे िी है इन पौधोों की मिट्टी बनाने के तिए नीचे तदए गए
सामग्री का उपयोग कीतजये

धूप- इन पौधोों को ठन्डे इिाको में सीधे धूप में भी उगाया जा सकिा है जहााँ पर िापमान १५-२५ तिग्री रहिा है और सूरज की
रौशनी बहुि ही िेज़ नहीों रहिी िेतकन भारि जहााँ पर मौसम बहुि सारे रों ग बदििा है वहााँ पर सूरज की सीधी रौशनी इन पौधोों
के तिए नुकसानदायक रहिी है खासकर मध्य भारि और तनचिे उिरी भारि में जहा पर गमी के मौसम में िापमान 45 तिग्री िक
चिा जािा है , ऐसे में इन पौधोों की बहुि ही ज्यादा दे खरे ख की जरुरि रहिी है , मौसमबार नीचे कुछ बािे बिाई गयी है

गमी: गतमणयोों के मौसम में इन पौधोों को सूरज की सीधी रौशनी में न रखे, सुबह की 7-8 बजे िक की ही धूप पयाण प्त है उसके बाद
इनको तसिण ल्सखिी हुए रौशनी तमिना जरुरी है

सर्दी: ठण्ड के मौसम में सुबह की 4-5 घोंटे की धूप इन्हे दी जा सकिी है और ये ध्यान रखे की इनके ऊपर कोहरा न पड़े नहीों िो
इनकी पतियाों गिना शुरू हो जािी है

बरसाि: बरसाि के मौसम में इन्हे ऐसी जगह रखे जहााँ पर बहुि ज्यादा पानी इनके ऊपर न आये िगािार बाररश अगर हो
रही हो िो इन्हे उससे बचाये और ऐसी जगह रखे जहााँ पर इन पर सीखा पानी न आिा हो और जब भी धूप तनकिे 1-2 घोंटे की
धूप तदखाना न भूिे

पानी कब दें - इन पौधोों को समस्या सबसे ज्यादा अतनयतमि और अतनयोंतिि पानी से ही होिी है , आपको अपने इिाके के
मौसम, िापमान, आद्रिा (Humidity) के अनुसार इन पौधोों की पानी की जरुरि को समझना बहुि जरुरी है , जो सबसे बेहिर
िरीका है पानी दे ने का वो ये है की अपनी ऊाँगिी से गमिे की मिट्टी को छु ए िगभग २-३ इों च अगर मिट्टी सूखी हुयी हो िो ही पानी
दे , नीचे मौसमबार इनको पानी दे ने के िरीके बिाये गए है

गमी- गतमणयोों में हवा में नमी की बहुि कमी हो जािी है और िापमान बढ़ जािा है तजस वजह से मिट्टी जल्दी सूखने िगिी है
चूोंतक ऊपर बिाई गयी सामग्री इिने जल्दी नहीों सूखेगी िब भी आप २ तदनोों के अोंिराि पर इनमे पानी दे सकिे है याद रल्सखये
आपको ये जरूर दे खना है की मिट्टी तकिने नीचे िक सूखी है उसी मािा में इन्हे पानी दे

सर्दी- सतदण योों के मौसम में हवा में आद्रिा रहिी है और िापमान भी कािी कम रहिा है, हफ्ते में 1 तदन भी पानी दे ना इनके
तिए पयाण प्त होिा है , सबसे ज्यादा ध्यान दे ने योग्य जो बाि है वो ये की अगर आपके इिाके में कोहरा पड़िा है िो इन्हे उसके
ऊपर तगरने से बचाये, कोहरे के कारर् इनकी पतिया सड़ने िगिी है

बरसाि- बरसाि के मौसम में आद्रिा सबसे ज्यादा रहिी है और वाररश के माध्यम से भी पानी इन पौधोों को तमििा रहिा है ,
इस मौसम में पौधोों को बहुि कम पानी की जरुरि रहिी है , मिट्टी को जाोंचकर ही इनमे पानी दे

पानी कैसे दें - इन पौधोों में पानी दे ने का िरीका थोड़ा अिग होिा है, दु सरे पौधोों की िरह इनको पतियोों के ऊपर से पानी
कभी न दे क्योतक इनकी बनाबट ऐसी होिी है की इनकी पतियोों में पानी िोंस जािा है और उस वजह से इनकी पतिया सड़ने
िगिी है , पानी दे िे समय गमिे के बगि से पानी दे , या तकसी बड़े बिणन में पानी भरे और गमिा उसमे रखे, गमिे के नीचे वािे
छे दो से पानी मिट्टी में चिा जािा है और इससे ओवर वाटररों ग से भी बचा जा सकिा है ये िरीका हर मौसम में कारगर होिा है

फांगस या कीड़ ां से बचाव- सामान्यिः इन पौधोों में िोंगस और कीड़ोों की समस्या नहीों दे खी गयी है तिर भी अगर
आपको ये िगिा है की ऐसा हो रहा है िो नीम िेि को पानी में तमिाकर इन पर स्प्रे तकया जा सकिा है , इन पौधोों में सबसे ज्यादा
जो परे शानी दे खी जािी है वो जड़ें गिने की समस्या है इससे बचें के तिए पानी कब और कैसे दें वािे कथनो का अनुसरर् करे

खार्द- इन पौधोों के तिए अगर ऊपर दी गयी मिट्टी के तमक्स का उपयोग तकया जा रहा है िो 1 साि िक खाद दे ने की कोई
जरुरि नहीों है , तिर भी इनके बेहिर बढ़ाव के तिए हर 6 महीने में NPK 19:19:19 या सरसो खिी का उपयोग बहुि ही कम
मािा में पानी के साथ तमिाकर तदया जा सकिा है , ध्यान ये रखे जब भी आप खाद दे उससे 4 तदन पहिे और 4 तदन बाद िक इन्हे
पानी न दे
ये पौधे अम्लीय मिट्टी के शौक़ीन होिे है िो हर महीने सोंिरे /नीम्बू के तछिके से बने हुए एों जाइम को थोड़ी थोड़ी मािा में तदया जा
सकिा है , ये एों जाइम कैसे बनािे है आप इों टरनेट या यूट्यूब पर आसानी से दे ख सकिे है

सकुिेंट्स के पौधे दे खने में बहुि सुन्दर, रोचक और आकर्णक होिे है इसीतिए हर कोई चाहिा है इनके बहुि सारे पौधे हो इसी
िािच में बहुि सारे िोग अपने पौधे को हातन पहुोंचा दे िे है , जब िक आपका पौधा बड़ा नहीों हुआ है , या गििी से पौधे की पतिया
नहीों टू टी है िब िक इसके बारे में नहीों सोचना चातहए
बागवानी का सबसे बड़ा मूिमोंि ही होिा है धैयण, पौधे के बड़े होने या इससे नए िने आने का इों िज़ार कररये, अगर आपने ऊपर तदए
गए सुझावोों का अनुसरर् बहुि ही अच्छे िरीके से तकया है िो 1 साि के अोंदर ही आपके पास 1 पौधे से बहुि सारे पौधे बन जायेंगे वो
भी आपके मुख्य पौधे को नुकसान पहुचाये तबना, अतवकतसि पौधे से पतिया िोड़ने से उसे पौधे की जो सबसे खास बाि होिी है वही
खो जािी है और वो है उनकी बनावट, इसीतिए पौधे के तवकतसि होने का इों िज़ार करे और तिर तजिने चाहे उिने पौधे और बनाये,
सकुिेंट्स को पौधे से दु सरे पौधे नीचे तदए गए दो िरीको से बनाये जा सकिे है

1. पतियोों से
2. िने से

दोनोों ही तवतधयाों बहुि ही आसान और कारगर होिी है , तजन्हे तवस्तार से समझाया गया है

1. पतिय ां से - अगर आपका पौधा कािी बड़ा हो गया है या िािे समय या गमिे में िगािे समय पतियाों टू ट गयी है िो उन पतियोों
को िेंतकए मि उनको ऊपर दी गयी मिट्टी के तमश्रर् में नीचे दी गयी िस्वीर-1 के तहसाब से रख दे , और तिर उस गमिे को तकसी
छायादार जगह जहााँ पर सीधी घूप न पड़िी हो वहाों रख दे , ध्यान रखे की गमिे के ऊपर वािी िह की मिट्टी हमेशा नम रहे , इसके
बाद 1 हफ्ते के तिए इन्हे छोड़ दे , बार बार पिी की जगह न बदिे, धीरे धीरे इसमें से नयी कोोंप तदखना चािू हो जाएगी, जब ये कोोंप
बड़ी हो जाये िो इसे आप दु सरे गिमे में िगा सकिे है, या कोतशश करे की उसी गमिे में पतियाों रखे तजस गमिे में आप वो पौधा
िगाना चाहिे है इससे गमिा बदििे वक़्त होने वािी गितियोों से बचा जा सकिा है और नया पौधा आसानी से बन जायेगा

Note: अच्छे पररणाम के तलए पौधे से पतिया लेिे वक़्त िस्वीर-2 क जरूर र्दें खे और सावधानी वरिे

2. िने से- अगर आपका पौधा बड़ा हो गया है और उसमे से नया िना तनकि के आ रहा है और आप दू सरा पौधा बनाना चाहिे है िो पौधे
के नए िने को काटकर ऊपर बिाये गए मिट्टी के तमश्रर् में नीचे की 2-3 पतिया हटाकर िगा दे , कुछ तदनोों िक मिट्टी को नम रखे, थोड़े
तदनोों बाद जड़ें बन जाएगी

Note: िना काटिे समय ध्यान रखे की आप तकसी धारधार चीज का उपय ग करे और उसक सेनेटाइज़र/स्प्रिट/अलक हल से
साफ़ जरूर कर ले उससे फांगस लगने का खिरा नही ां रहेगा

मस्प्र्चांग करना या िह बनाना:- चूोंतक हम अपनी मिट्टी में कोकोपीट का उपयोग करिे है िो तगिहररयाों पक्षी उसे अपना
घोोंसिा बनाने के तिए िेने पौधे िक जािे है , कभी कभी वो पौधे की जड़ें तनकि दे िे है , िने को भी नुकसान पहुोंचा दे िे है या
कोकोपीट के ऊपर की िह सूख जाने से वो िेज़ हवा में उड़ने िगिी है , इससे बचने के तिए आप रे ि को छानने के बाद बचने वािे
पत्थर जो की आसानी से तकसी बनिे हुए घर के आसपास तमि जायेगे, घरो की छपाई में उपयोग होने वािी कािी वािी पििी
कोंक्रीट या पुरानी सूखी हुयी पतियोों के िह गिमे की मिट्टी के ऊपर बना सकिे है , इससे पतक्षयोों से, हवा से और मिट्टी में जमा पानी
के वाष्पीकरर् से बचा जा सकिा है , साथ ही गमिे की मिट्टी का िापमान भी तनयोंतिि करिा है और पौधे का तवकास बहुि ही
अच्छा होिा है

 ऊपर बिाये गए उपायोों और सुझावोों के अिावा कुछ छोटी छोटी बािे है जो इन पौधोों के रख रखाव में बहुि महत्वपूर्ण भूतमका
रखिे है

❖ पौधोों की जगह बार बार न बदिें, ऐसा करने से पौधा सही िरीके से माहौि में घुि तमि नहीों पािा है और मुरझाने िगिा है ,
ऊपर दी गयी बािो को ध्यान में रखकर अपने घर में ऐसी जगह का चुनाव करे जो इन पौधोों के तिए उपयुक्त हो
❖ ये पौधे बहुि ही धीमी गति से बढ़िे है इसतिए धैयण रखे और इों िज़ार करे इनको जल्दी बढ़ाने के प्रयास में इन्हे ज्यादा पानी
खाद, धूप न दे
❖ बार बार गमिे न बदिे, शुरुवाि में ऊपर बिाये गए सुझावोों को ध्यान में रखकर गमिे का चुनाव करे और इन्हे िगाए
❖ कभी भी इन पौधोों को ऊपर से मििब पतियोों के ऊपर से पानी न दे , पानी दे ने के तिए ऊपर तदए गए सुझावोों का अनुसरर्
करे
❖ जब भी आपको इनमे नए किी, िना, तदखे उसे िुरोंि न हटाए, उसे थोड़ा बढ़ने दे और तिर बहुि ही धारदार और साफ़ ब्लेि
या धागे से उसे काटकर नए गमिे में िगाए
❖ जो वमीकम्पोि या सूखी पतियोों का चूरा आप उपयोग में िाने वािे है उसे अच्छी िरह से जाोंचे की उसमे तकसी भी प्रकार के
कीड़े या िोंगस िो मौजूद नहीों
❖ समय के साथ गमिे की मिट्टी जकड़िी जािी है , हर ६ महीने में उसे मिट्टी को तकसी चम्मच या पेंचकस से ढीिा करे िातक
पानी का बहाव नीचे की िरि बना रहे और जड़ोों को िैिने के तिए रुके हुए रस्ते खुि जाये
❖ अगर आपका पौधा गमिे से ज्यादा बड़ा हो गया है िो उसका गमिा िुरोंि बदिे, बदििे समय पौधोों के जड़ोों की सारी मिट्टी न
हटाए
❖ गमिा बदििे वक़्त अगर मिट्टी का कोई कर् पौधे की पतियोों में िोंस गया है िो तचमटी या तकसी नुकीिी बस्तु की मदद से उसे
हटा दे
❖ गतमणयोों के मौसम से इन पौधोों को सूरज की िेज़ रौशनी और गमण हवाओ के थपेड़ो से बचाकर रखे, ऐसा करने के तिए इन पौधोों
को एक साथ झुण्ड में दु सरे बड़े पौधोों के बीच में रखे और आसपास चौड़े बिणन में पानी भरकर रखे, इससे हवा में आद्रिा और
िापमान तनयोंतिि रहिा है
❖ अगर आप इन्हे छि/बािकनी पर ऊगा रहे है िो गतमणयोों के मौसम में दोपहर के वक़्त जब गमण िू चििी है िब िशण पर पानी
का तछड़काव करे उससे ठों िक और आद्रिा बनी रहिी है
❖ भूिकर भी इन्हे एक/कूिर और पोंखे की हवा में रखने की गििी न करे
❖ गमिा बदििे वक़्त सावधानी रखे की इनके िने और पतिया न टू टे क्योतक इनके िने और पतिया बहुि ही नाज़ुक और िचीिी
होिी है
❖ सकुिेंट्स अपने घर में िाने से पहिे ये जरूर दे खे की आपके घर का पानी खारा िो नहीों नहीों, खारे पानी में ये पौधे नहीों चििे है ,
इनके तिए तमनरि वाटर का उपयोग भी न करे
❖ अगर आप इन पौधोों को खाद दे ना चाहिे है िो गतमणयोों का मौसम(March End) सबसे उपयुक्त मौसम रहिा है
❖ अगर उपिब्ध हो िो िकड़ी के कोयिे के छोटे छोटे टु कड़े भी तमट्टी में तमिाये जा सकिे है ये तमट्टी की अम्लीयिा को तनयोंतिि
रखने में मदद करिा है

Lets Know the succulents:- These Plants are member of cactus family, as succulents contains water
in their leafs, succulents are very well know for their flower like structure, foliage, and colors/shades
Types of Succulents- There are many category of succulents plants genus which makes a very big
family some genus are: Euphoria, Haworthia

This is very important factor to grow succulents, these plants grow well and propagate
themselves in temperature between 15-25 degree celsius, some succulents can be survived till 35
degree if they get good care
Succulents Care
Succulents are very sensitive plants hence they required very gentle and daily care specially observation
so that if something is wrong with any plant then remedy can be provided, If anyone is making any
mistake with these plants then they starts dropping leafs and slowly slowly end themselves, Lets know
some points to take good care of these wonderful plants

❖ Pot/Planter- Pot play a very vital role for succulents care and propagation, These plants do
not have very big leafs hence small pot size approx 3-4 inches is enough for them, the most
important fact that everyone need to keep in mind is that, pot should have very well water drainage
system so that during watering if more then enough water was poured then it should pass through
the hols, while planting put some thermocol or old pots pieces so that pots holes will not be blocked.
If possible use clay or ceramic pots, it will keep soil temperature cool, just check pots have good
drainage system, if clay or ceramic pots are not available then plastic pots can be used

❖ Soil Mixture: Not only for succulents but also soil mixture is good friend for plants, For
succulents soil mixture should be very porous which should not logged water, As mentioned
previously these plants contains water in leafs and they have very tiny roots hence they do not
required lots of water, that’s why never use black or Red soil else the root rots chances will be high,
to prepare soil mixture use below given ingredients in mentioned ratio

❖ SunLight- Succulents can be grown in direct sunlight in cold areas where temperature
remains between 15-25 degree, But in India where weather shows many colors in different regions,
temperature goes upto 45 degree in some regions like lower part of North India, Middle India, In
such areas we need to take special care of succulents plants, According to weather below are
points:

⚫ Summer: Please do not put succulents plants in direct sunlight in summer season, Put pots on
such place where plants will get morning 7-8 direct sunlight and then filtered bright light
⚫ Winter: In winters we can give morning 4-5 hours direct sunlight, just save plants from fog,
Fog generated high humidity and moisture on leafs which is very dangerous for succulents
plants
⚫ Rain: In Rainy season put the pots on such places where rain will not come directly on pots,
also do not forgot to put plants in sunlight for 1-2 hours whenever possible

❖ Watering- These plants have problem with irregular and uncontrolled watering, you need to
analyse and understand the watering schedule according to the weather, Temperature and
humidity in your area, the best way to give water to succulents is to provide water from below part
of pots, take water in any big basket and put your pots in it for 5-10 Minuit, pots will take required
water, or check the soil mixture 1-2 inch deep using your finger if soil mixture is dry then give full
water, Weather wise some points are given below for watering

⚫ Summer- In summer season humidity decreases in air and temperature rises, because of that
soil mixture get dried very frequently, If you have used mentioned soil mixture and chosen
good place for pots then it will not dry that much quick so you can give water after every 2 days,
Please keep in mind that before watering you need to check the soil mixture with your finger
and then water it accordingly
⚫ Winter- In Winter Humidity increases and temperature decreases so if you will give water
once in a week then that will be enough for succulents, In this season you need to save your
plants from fog, it should not come directly on the plants, because of it succulents get stressed
and start dropping its leaves
⚫ Rain- In Rainy Season humidity rises at highest and with rain plants get water automatically,
you just need to save plants from contentious heavy rain on plants, and 1-2 hour sunlight when
possible

❖ How to water succulents- Watering methodology is slightly different for succulents

plants, Never give water to any succulents plants above from leafs, succulents have very typical
structure of leafs arrangements and because of that in many succulents plants water get logged in
the leafs which can cause rotting problem. While watering give water from the side of pot using any
funnel shaped bottle so that water will not scatter on plants leafs or take enough amount of water in
any wide bucket and put the pots inside it for 5-10 minutes, pots will take required water
automatically, this method is very helpful in every season
❖ Safety from fungus and germs- Generally in succulents fungus and germs
problem is never observed but if you found any symptoms of it then spray neem oil mixing with
water, the most problem observed with succulents is root rot, to save plants from it please follow
the Watering schedule and methods guideline
Fertilization- If above mentioned soil mix is being used for succulents then there is no need
to give any fertilizer for next 1 year, but still for better health and propagation in every 6 months you
can give water soluble NPK 19:19:19 in 1 Spoon NPK :2 liter water ration, just keep one thing in
mind that do not give water for 4 days before and after fertilization. Succulents loves acidic soil
mixture, so we can give orange/lemon peals enzyme every month in little quantity with water, many
methods are available on internet and YouTube to make these enzymes

Succulents plants are very beautiful, interesting and attractive plants that’s why everyone want to have
many plants in their garden, and because of this greediness many people destroy their plants, till your
plants has not grown big enough or leafs are broken from plants by mistake we should not think about
its propagation
Patience is the key of successful gardening, wait for propagation till new stem is not coming from plant,
if you are following above mentioned guideline in well manner then withing 1 year you will have many
plants from one plants as original plants will give it to you.
Taking leafs from undeveloped plant will destroy the health, beauty and the most important the
structure of plants the foliage of succulent plant, so wait till your plant has not grown enough.

3. From Leafs - If your plant has grown big enough or some leafs are broken while
re-potting/Carrying the plant then do not throw those leafs, put those leafs in the above mentioned
soil mixture by referencing picture-1 and put that pot in any shady area for 1 week and please keep
maintain the moisture of upper layer of pot and do not change the place of leafs and pots again and
again, After 7-8 days tiny roots and new leafs will appear, when this leaf become big enough as
shown in picture-1 then you can transfer it in another pot. Or it will be better you put your broken
leaf for propagation in the pot in which you want to plant new succulent plant, that will save you by
mistakes happens during re-potting, that’s is how you can make new plant from a single leaf

Note: For better result please refer Picture-2 while taking the leafs from your original plant

 4. From Stem- If your plant has grown enough or new strong stem is there and you want to
make another plant then cut the new stem and put 1-2 inch deeper in the above mentioned soil mix,
keep moist the upper layer of soil mix for next 1 week, in some time new roots will come

Note: While cutting the stem from plant please use sharp tool and clean it using
sanitizer/alcohol that will reduce the risk of fungus

❖ Mulching or making guard layer- We have used cocopeat in our soil mixture,
sometimes squirrel and some birds comes to take it for their nest and sometime they harm the stem
and roots of plants also when upper layer of cocopeat is dry and there is strong air flow then it
scatter from pot. To prevent these scenarios we can do mulching using the dry leafs or make a layer
of stone pebbles which we can get near any under construction building/River sand or black
concrete which we used for wall plaster, but before using it wash it 7-8 times properly. This layer will
prevent extreme evaporation, squirrels, birds and strong air flow, Also it will maintain the
temperature of the soil mix

 Apart from above mentioned suggestions below are some small points which plays very
significant role in succulent care
❖ Please do not change the place of pots so frequently, if you do so plant will not adjust with
the environment properly, so chose a perfect place by following the above mentioned
suggestion regarding sunlight, rain and fog
❖ Succulent grows with very slowly speed so please keep Patience and do not give over dose
of sunlight/water/fertilizer
❖ Please do not do re-potting till not required, choose the post at time of planting by following
above mentioned suggestions
❖ While watering do not give water over leafs
❖ Check for any fungus or bugs in Vermicompost and crushed dry leafs you are going to use
❖ With time soil mixture of pot become hard,after every 6 months lose the soil mix using any
spoon or screw driver, this will open any water logging point and way to spread roots
❖ If your plant becomes large enough then used pot, re-pot the plant immediately to save the
plant from root bound, while re-potting do remove soil very near to roots
❖ While re-potting or watering if any Particle observed between leafs, then remove it using
Tweezers or sharp tool
❖ In summer season save your plants from hard sunlight and hot wind, as a preventing
measure put all of your pots in bunch, put your pots with any other big plant, or put water
in any wide tub/bucket, if you are growing succulents on your terrace/balcony then spray
water on tiles/floor at noon time. It will maintain the humidity in the air and will keep
temperature low.
❖ Never try to keep succulents plants in AC or near cooler/fan wind
❖ While re-potting be very gentle with the plants so that leafs will not harmed, Succulents
leafs are very soft and flexible
❖ Before taking succulents to your home please check your home water is not salty in nature,
succulents do not do well in salty water, Also please do not use mineral water
❖ March End is the good time to give fertilizer to these plant, after that do not try to give them
fertilizer till Nov
❖ If available small wooden coal pieces can also be added in the soil mixture, it will maintain
the PH level of soil and keep it acidic in nature
