occasional English teacher. He’s always trying to add value to his life and the life
of others.

Hello. My name is Saeed Daneshmandi, but people also call me Simply Saeed. I’m
an English teacher and translator and sometimes I work as a tourist guide and
travel writer. I enjoy traveling, having new experiences and writing about them.

When I travel, I try to learn as much as I can about the place. Because of that I look
for accommodation that will help me do that. That’s why I often prefer to stay in
ecolodges. Ecolodges are faithful to the traditions, culture, food, architecture and
much more of the region. That’s why staying in an ecolodge gives me the oppor-
tunity to understand why that place is special.

Another reason why I often choose ecolodges is sustainable development which

means developing without destroying or damaging nature. Ecolodges are usually
in harmony with their natural environment. For instance, they encourage people
staying there to recycle; or they take people on tours of the natural environment
and teach them about the ecosystem and the relationship between humans, an-
imals, plants and so on. By doing this, they encourage people to preserve nature
and to allow it to remain and grow for future generations.

Another thing I look for when I’m traveling is a place to work and socialize. Some-
times I have projects that I have to do on my laptop. So, I need somewhere to sit
down in peace and quiet and work. When I’m finished working, I also enjoy social-
izing with other people. So, if there’s a place where I and other people can gather
and discuss things and socialize, I’m very happy with the accommodation.

All in all, I think ecolodges give you a unique experience of the place that you’re
staying in and allow you to understand the natural and human environment better.
So, I recommend it to everyone. At least try it.

Yasi: The next traveler is a big source of inspiration for all of us.

Hello Everyone,

This is Melica. I have been traveling and volunteering around South America for
17 months and during this time, I have experienced different types of accommo-
dations. Most of the time, I have local hosts which I find through workaway.info
and couchsurfing.com, They offer me a private room or their couch. I don’t mind
sleeping on a couch or even on the floor. I just want to experience living with the
locals of every country and I believe that’s the best way to learn about a different
culture or a new language. I have never stayed in hotels, I’m not into luxury travel
right now, but I have stayed and volunteered in many hostels, where I share a room
with three or more people from different parts of the world and I can communi-
cate with travelers from all around the planet. I prefer to stay with local hosts, not
because it is free but because I will learn more about the country I am traveling in.

I have also camped in many places with my foreign friends, the first time was a
little bit scary but over time, I became more connected to the wild nature and let
go of old habits. Letting go of bad and old habits happens a lot while traveling and
it makes you grow, no matter which kind of accommodation you choose.

My name is Mohammad, which many people in social media such as Instagram

know me as mamaLLicaa, my nickname.

Actually, I was an engineer for 8 years, but finally I found that I have itchy feet,
and love travelling to broaden my horizon. So now, I am a full-time world traveler
and also a tour guide and tour operator. I am really into adventure, making friends
from all walks of life, visiting new places around the world and exploring different
cultures.

The thing is, one of the most important parts of travelling is accommodation. I my-
self, usually choose hostels because there are always backpackers from all around
the world, so you can meet them and share stories and have fun, especially when
you are a solo traveler.

In hostels, you need to pay for a single bed in a shared dormitory, but It doesn’t
cost you an arm and a leg. You will stay with 4 to 20 travelers in the same room,
the toilet and bathroom are shared, and you will have also a shared kitchen, which
helps you not to spend a lot of money for food in restaurants.

Another option is hotels if you like to have more privacy and be comfortable This
option is very good for couples or families, not for solo travelers, but cost you a
fortune in some cases, depending on the quality of services they give you, and the
time of you trip.

If you want to save more money, couchsurfing can help you. By using couchsurf-
ing, you stay with local people for free, and sometimes they hang out with you
and show you around if you were born under a lucky star. Also, you can seize the
opportunity and learn what to do and not to do in that area in the best way.

My Another favorite type of accommodation is Airbnb, which allows you to stay in

local’s houses. You will pay more or less the same as hotels and hostels, depending
on the number of guests, the location and many other factors, but this experience
can be really enjoyable and adventurous.

All in all, choosing the accommodation is a bit tricky. Everywhere you go, you have
different situations and you should search a lot and consider all factors in order to
choose best options.

Yasi: And the last one is Kimia, who is a pro traveler as well as a tour guide.

I am Kimia, I’ve been focused on travelling since seven years ago. During these
years, I travelled to different destinations in different ways. As I love new expe-
riences, I always try to follow my heart during my trips. Therefore, sometimes I
travelled with a group as a tour guide, sometimes with my friends and some other
times I prefer to be alone.

Moreover, based on my mood and destination’s situation I choose different kind

of accommodation. Since I always want to interact with local people to learn their
culture, traditions and so on the best choice for me is finding host in couchsurfing.
Couchsurfing is an application and a website which helps you to find host or guest.

Let me explain more with an example.

Imagine that you wanna go to Paris and you want to stay in someone’s house.

First of all you should register in couchsurfing website. Don’t forget to write about
your hobbies, activities, and whatever is important for you.

Then you should filter a list of hosts in Paris. Now it’s time to view hosts’ profile,
read their reviews and check their house rules. For example, if you have cat pho-
bia, check if they keep it in their house or if staying near Eiffel tower is important
for you, you should check their house location.

When the host is choosen, it’s time for sending request letter. It’s better to intro-
duce yourself and explain the reason of your travel. I usually offer cooking Persian
food in my requesting letter. After sending this letter if he or she accepts, you can
stay there for free. Although couchsurfing is not about money, having some sou-
venir makes your host feel better.

‫برم که بتونم کار �کنم و همینطور با بقیه ارتباط برقرار �کنم‪ .‬بعضی وقتا پروژه هایی دارم که باید‬
‫روشون با لپ تاپ کار �کنم‪ .‬بنابراین جایی رو میخوام که در آرامش و سکوت بشینم و کار �کنم و وقتی‬
‫که کارم تمام شد از ارتباط برقرار کردن با بقیه لذت ببرم‪ .‬پس اگه جایی باشه که بشه همه دور هم‬
‫جمع بشن و بحث �کنن و با هم ارتباط برقرار �کنم من خیلی خوشحال میشم اونجا اقامت داشته‬

‫أصال خیلی گرون نیست‪ .‬تو با چهار و یا بیست تا سفربرو دیگه در یه اتاق اقامت داری؛ سرویس‬
‫بهداشتی و حمام و همینطور آشپزخونه به صورت اشتراکی هست‪ .‬داشتن آشپزخونه بهت کمک‬
‫می�کنه که پول کمتری رو در رستورانها خرج �کنی‪ .‬گزینه بعدی اقامت داشتن در هتله اگه دنبال جایی‬
‫راحت تر و خصوصی تر هستی؛ این گزینه برای زوج ها و خانواده ها خیلی خوبه‪ .‬اما برای اونایی که‬

‫رایگان اونجا اقامت داشته باشی‪ .‬اگرچه کوچ سرفینگ در مورد پول نیست اما میتونی برای میزبانت‬
