I. Opening Program

Last December 12, 2023 we had our first session in our learning
action cell with a theme “21st CENTURY SKILLS AND ICT INTEGRATION”.

 Ma’am Luisa C. Lacanlale as our facilitator started the opening of the


ceremony with the audio-visual presentation of Makabayan song which was
immediately followed by a prayer led by Ma’am Ella L. Chico.

 Ma’am Alicia S. Villanueva was the one in charge of the roll call .

 Ma’am Jessa A. Dungo shared that “Education is the most powerful weapon
which can use to change the world”. as our food for thought. She emphasized
that education can change the life of an individual even the lives of others that
surrounds him.

II Discussion Proper

 Ma’am Mary Antonette F. Manalo a SPED teacher is our speaker for today
with a title “ Canva as Educational Tool”.

 She gave first the definition of the CANVA


 Canva is a graphic design tool that makes creating custom
graphics easy.
 It’s easily accessible by phone or tablet and is user friendly.
 She even told us the use of it.
 Main use: to spice up your social media content
 Also use: to design things like presentations, invitations, posters,
brochures, business cards etc.

 Ma’am Mary Antonette tought us the step by step on how to access the site
for canva.
1. Open the Canva for Education sign up page.
(https://www.canva.com/education/)
2. If you can, sign up for Canva for Education with a verified educational
email.
(Recommend: DepEd Email)
3. Follow the sign up prompts.
4. After signing up, select that you are a Teacher. Click Get Verified.
5. If you signed up with a verified educational email domain, you’ll get
access
right away - Congratulations!

 After that, Ma’am Mary Antonette discussed intelligibly and assist us as we


scroll and wander in the world of canva using our own personal laptop step by
step on the following activities:

A. Making Power Point Presentation in canva


1. Start a new presentation by opening up the canva. Then search for
“presentation” design type.
2. Browse Presentation- this leads to various templates style and themes.
3. Custome your Design- upload your own photos, logo and banding
elements.

4. Present with Flair- makes your slide stands out by experimenting with
layouts, fiding right font combination and color.

B. How To Make Certificates Elegantly.


1. Open the canva- launch canva and search for “certificates” to start
making your own certificates.
2. Browse Presentation- this leads to various templates style and themes.
3. Personalize Your Own Design- Get your certificates looking exactly
how you want it by using easy drag-and-drop design tools.
4. Add More Design Elements- Explore the image and graphics library
filled with millions of photos, icons, illustration and vectors to use on your
own design.
5. Save for Printing- Save your certificates using the share button and
click download.

C. How to Make Graphics


1. Open Canva and search for “INFOGRAPHICS” to start your design
2. Browse Presentation Templates- Explore canva’s wide range of
infographics templates for your visualization needs. Use the search
tool to narrow down your choice by theme, color, style and more.
3. Customize Your Infographics Design- Begin with a template and
branch out in any number of creative directions. Change the text,
colors, fonts and backgrounds with just a few clicks.
4. Present Your Design with Elements- Find thousands of arrow design
for your flowchart and arrange them any way you like on your design.
5. Save and Share.

D. How to Make Posters


1. Open Canva and search for “INFOGRAPHICS” to start your design
2. Choose Template- Find the best one for you by adding keywords that fit
your choice of theme.
3. Personalize your Poster Design- Begin with a template then play around
with the design.
4. Get Even More Creative- Make your poster truly stand out by adding more
design elements.
5. Save and Share

E. How to Make Video Lessons


1. Open Canva, then search for the “Presentation or Talking Presenttion
design type.
2. Explore Presentation Templtes- Browse canva’s wide range of
presentation templates in various styles and themes. Choose a template
that would creatively fit right into your topic and audience.
3. Customize your Design- Upload your own photos, logo and other branding
elements. Use the animation feature to make images and text appear on
each slide in creative way.
4. Present and Record- Access the “present and record” option on the
editor’s top-right side or click on the three-dot menu to select it among
recommended actions.
5. Head on the Recording Studio- Select “GO TO RECORDING STUDIO”
and set up your camera and microphone. Start recording with your notes
in Presenter’s view and have the options to pause and resume your
recording.
6. Download and Share- Click on “ End recording” and wait for it to upload.
Share your taling presentation with your audience using the generated link
or download it in MP4.

III Output
At the end of the discussion, we are tasked to make our own POWER
POINT PRESENTATION using Canva.

Indeed, the learning action cell was truly fruitful and helpful for us educators in
21st Century leaded by our almsgiver presenter Ma’am Mary Antonette F.
Manalo and as our facilitator Ma’am Luisa C. Lanlale ensure that we learn
through the entire discussion.
