Semi-Detailed Lesson Plan in English 10

I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson the students are expected to:
a. Identify forms of discrimination from the materials viewed;
b. Analyze the meaning of the song;
c. Express appreciation for sensory images used;
d. Perform communicative activities;

II. Subject Matter


Topic: Building Up Defenses (Reflecting song from Mulan).
Time Allotted: 1hr
Materials: Notebook,Paper, Manila paper, Instructional Materials.
References: Learners Materials 10: Celebrating Diversity Through
World Literature.

III. PROCEDURE
A. Review
Ask the students about the previous lesson.
What they learned about the previous lesson.
Ask the students if they truly understand the past lesson.

B. Motivation
Introduce the activity “Complete the lyrics’’ of the song Mulan.
Let the students do the activity.
The teacher will check the work of each of the students.

C. Activities

Activity 1:
Divide the class into two groups.
Each of the group will follow the instruction of the teacher about the
activity.
The teacher will check the work of each group.

Activity 2:
With the same group, meditate and relax while listening to the song
“Reflection” from the movie Mulan.
Answer the following question given by the teacher.

D. Abstraction
Proceed to the next lesson which is Building defenses against
discrimination.
Ask the students about their idea or experience about discrimination.
Fill the concept map base on the song “Reflection” fight against gender
discrimination.

E. Application
The teacher let the students read the question on the board and let them
answer.
F. Assignment
Real-Life Scenario
Directions: They will put themselves in a real life scenario and they will have
a small group differentiated instructions. The students are going to do their
assigned task based on the situation that the teacher will be given.
