Ito ay planado at maiging pinaghan-
daan ng mga organisasyong bumobuo
rito,kagaya ng Filipino at Araling Pan-
lipunan club. Pormal na binuksan ang
Buwan ng Wika sa pamamagitan ng
isang magarbong celebrasyon at mga
patimpalak na linahokan ng mga es-
tudyante mula sa iba’t ibang baiting.
Bago yan ay naging sentro ng atensi-
yon ang pagbibigay ng isang makabu-
luhang talumpati ng pinakamamahal na
ina ng paaralan na walang iba kundi si

On the 4th-6th of July St. Au-
gustine Academy of Bayawan Inc.
organized a school based press con-
ference which was led by the old
journalists and the school academic
coordinator, Mr. Van Jake B. Sinag.
The aspiring journalists coming
from the different year levels were
thrilled to join the said contest. On
the first day, the old journalists gave
different talks about their specific
field and at the 2nd day the compe-
tition officially started and was ac-
complished in the afternoon. On July
6, 2018 the winners of the said com-
petition were chosen and they were
given certificates of recognition.

Sa huli ang nagwagi ay ang nagmula sa
ika-10 baitang na si Gian Carlos Taala.
Ngunit hindi pa diyan nagtatapos ang
pagdiriwang ng Buwan Ng Wika, dahil
noong ika-28 ng Agosto 2018 ay mul-
ing nagdiwang ang paaralan sa kanil-
ang kulminasyon para sa pagtatatapos
ng Buwan ng Wika. Nakasuot ng ng
mga nag-gagandahang Pilipinong ka-
soutan ang mga estudyante ng paaralan.
Nagkaroon din sila ng misa bilang pa-
sasalamat sa poong maykapal. Pagkat-

2018: E-Games

St. Augustine Academy of Bay-
awan Inc., held its first ever
E-games competition during
the Intramurals 2018, the said
competition was held within
the school’s computer labora-
tory. It was initiated and facil-
itated by Mr. Jemar Quezon
Lifana, SAA’s very own com-
puter teacher. The said compe-
tition features the game called

paikot sa paaralan. Maraming patimpa-
lak din na inihanda anng paaralan tulad
ng Sabayang Pagbigkas at Talentadong
Augustinian. Ito ay linahokan ng mga
estudyanteng mula ika-7 hanggang ika-
12 na baitang. Labis itong pinaghan-
daan at naging mainit ang tagisan ng
bawat kalahok. Sa huli ang nanalo sa
Sabayang pagbigkas at Talentadong
Augustinian ay ang ika-9 na baitang at
sinundan naman ito ng ika-10 na bai-
tang para sa ikalawang puwesto.Ma-
saya ang pagtatapos ng pagdiriwang,
matagumpay at maayos itong naidi-
wang dahil sa pagtutulungan ng mga
mag-aaral at mga guro ng San Agustin.

in cooking
contest

O
n the 24th of July 2018, a Nutri-Cook-
ing Competition was held at the Tina-
go Gymnasium.It was joined by various
schools including Saint Augustine Acad-
emy of Bayawan Inc. It was organized
by the Bayawan City Nutrition Council.
A representative of by pairs were required
and the ones to represent St. Augustine were
Stassy Lynx C. Tapangan and Ethan Charles
F. Getalde both from Grade 6-Fortitude.
They were coached by the schools very own
Grade 5- Humility adviser Ms.Rowena T.
Tubongbanua. Each pair was given 45 min-
utes to finish their desired dish. Stassy and
Ethan made “Puso Balls” and were reviewed
by 4 judges in total. The pair with their
hearty dish managed to win second place.
This program was held to serve and
show to individuals the importance
of eating nutritious foods and to raise
awareness to live a healthy lifestyle.

O n the late afternoon of September 4,
2018, St. Augustine Academy of Bayawan
Inc., held the little Mr. and Ms. Pampal-
akasan. The said competition was judge by
Mr. Wicko Santiago, Ms. Ethel Briones and
our very own Academic Coordinator, Mr.
Van Jake Sinag. The competition was opened
for all pupils from Grades 1-3 of St. Augus-
tine Academy of Bayawan Inc., at the end of
the day the pair from the Grade 3 won the
competition. It was a day to remember for
our dear pupils for they have become a part
of the celebration of the Intramurals 2018.

MYTH

Do you know someone rich and famous? Is he confident, pop-
ular and the center of attraction at all times- the epitome of
mainstream success? Or in the other hand, is he stressed, hav-
ing doubts about his choices and unsure about the meaning
of his life? We are willing to assure that it is the second one.
Mainstream media have effectively brainwashed our society
into accepting false, even potentially dangerous definition of
success. Media want us to believe that having lots and loads of
money, living in a big house, and owning all of the latest cars,
fashion trends, and technology is the key to happiness and
hence, success. This overstated falsely advertised MYTH is
hardly ever the case in real life. True success requires respect,
appreciation, integrity, and patience- all of which are traits
that by human nature are genuinely difficult to attain- espe-
cially in the face of modernize surroundings that relentlessly
deceive us, control our thoughts, and usurp our indepen-
dence, hence, happiness in order to increase their bottom line.
Media made us believe that living in a selfish life, involving
nothing but the pursuit of money and fame will bring success
and happiness. Sadly, this is not true. Money is comparable to
the often- mentioned new toy- fun while it is brand new and
fresh, but terribly boring and unexciting after a few hours of
play. Though money can buy conveniences and comforts, one
needs much more than superficial luxuries to live a success-
ful, well-balanced life. Money does make life easier, but it does
not necessarily make it better. For example, money cannot
make one knowledgeable or wise- that only comes with hard
work and committed study. And money cannot help forge a
long-term relationship with others- that only comes through
love, commitment and sacrifice. All the money in the world
cannot teach respect or courtesy- that only comes with good
up-bringing and a strong concern for the feelings of others.
Can money give you one of the gifts of patience or leader-
ship or appreciation or courage or friendship or even gener-
osity? We don’t think so. All of this traits- knowledge, wis-
dom, love, respect, and patience- are essential aspects of a
successful person’s life. Money cannot assist in the attain-
ment of any of these traits! Money merely detracts from the
pursuit of success by providing distractions, temptation,
and corruption. Therefore, the media’s illegitimate claim
that money is tantamount to success can be easily disproved.
There is no elevator to success- you have to take the stairs.
Similarly, popularity and fame are hardly synonymous with
success. Mind-numbing advertisements that are incessant-
ly flaunted to Filipinos have become ingrained into memo-
ry and habit, altering the accepted definition of success into
something shame-worthy. “SUCCESS” has been sadly com-
mercialized to represent fame and popularity. Ironically, the
most well-liked and popular people often have less confi-
dence, talent, and freedom than those who choose to follow

the compass of their hearts instead of the mainstream cul-
ture. This commercialized vision of success has already ex-
tinguished the originality in most people and turned us into
a nation allegorical sheep. Contrary to the popular myths,
money does not buy happiness or make a successful person.
When a person allows his mind to be restrained by mainstream

television, magazines, and the internet, becoming successful
is an impossible task. Fortunately, there is a way to stop this
disgraceful masquerade, before all Filipinos end up deprived of
their wool- or worse- sent to the slaughterhouse. In order to re-

mination of Buwan ng Wika.
As part of the said program,
They held the competition of
sabayang pagbigkas where-
in each grade level was giv-
en a piece to be recited. They
showed dedication in fight-
ing for the main purpose of
the said piece entitled “Fili-
pino:Wika ng Saliksik”. Each
one of the showed different
styles and tactics in show-
ing the Filipino spirit inside.
Among the 6 participants
grade 9 was the most out-
standing, they are called to
be the champion of the said
event. Followed by the grade
10 and grade 12. Everyone
was happy, they showcased
the spirit of a true filipino.

opisyal na Sinimulan ng Akademya
ng San Agustin ang pasukan para sa
mga estudyante, kabilang na ang mga
“transferees” sa taong 2018-2019.
Sinimulan ito ng panalangin na pina-
ngunahan ng mga guro at sinundan
naman ito ng kantang himig ng Bay-
awan at isang “Bible Enthronement”
na ginanap naman ng mga napiling
estudyarite ng paaralan. Sumunod rito
ay ang pagpapakilala sa mga opisyal
ng paaralan, kabilang na rito ang mga
guro mula sa Kindergarten hang-
gang sa Ikalabing-dalawang baitang.
Nagbigay pabungad rin si Sr. Cele-
rina Hifarva, A.R. punong-guro, sa
mga estudyante ukol sa mga paman-
tayan at regulasyon ng paaralan.
Pagkatapos ay nagsipasukan na ang
mga estudyante sa kanikanilang si-
lid-aralan at Sinimulan ang pagpa-
pakilala sa sarili, sumunod ay ang
pagpapakilala ng sistema ng “House
System” kung saan ibinahagi ang mga
pamantayan at kung sinosino ang mga

The hands of the clock stroke
seven, the moment that we
have been waiting for has
come. Blue gates leading
to a new school year are fi-
nally wide-open, doors and
windows sorting you from
where you belong, has swung
and remained unclogged.
With their hearts pumping fast,
faster like a running horse.
Students began stepping their
brand new and polished shoes
on the grounds of Saint Au-
gustine Academy, with veins
full of curiosity
of where might
they be per-
tained. Yet,
each of
them only have two things
hushing through their minds:
Farewell and welcome.
Farewell. Farewell to those
innumerous escapades, to the
coastline, to longer days and
shorter nights, farewell to
summer. Two months of be-
ing torpid has come to cease.
Now, its time for each student
to kick-off learning. Welcome,
to stumble upon new com-
rades and to dig in deeply with
knowledge over new things
but, allow me to interrogate
and narrate you that its not
just all about the things you
might learn, but also to how
many friends you might earn.
Barging in into a new school

amity and awareness. With-

Isang karangalan ang pagdiwang ng Buwan ng
Oktubre tungkol sa Siyensa at Matematika na
inilahad sa paaralan ng St.Augustine Academy.
Sa larangang ito,ipinakita ang kahalagahan ng Siyen-
sa sa mga mag-aaral na nabibigay ng mga kaalaman
tungkol sa mga makabagong bagay at ang implu-
wensiya nito sa modernong panahon sa kasulukuyan.
Subalit ang aspekto ng Matematika naman ay nagdala ng kri-
tisismo para sa pagpapalawak ng kaisipan ng mga mag-aaral
para mapalapit sila sa kapangyarihan ng asignaturang ito.
Kaya naman kusang-loob na nagkapit-bisig ang mga
indibidwal sa paaralan para pahalagahan ang siyensa
at matematika sa pamamagitan ng mga aktibidad na
prinesenta nila sa bawat baitang sa harap ng entablado.
Makulay na umaga ng Ika-12 ng Oktubre taong 2018. Pag-
katapos ng misa, ang mga mag aaral at mga guro na kasa-
li sa aktibidad ay kaniya-kaniyang kumilos sa kanilang
obligasyon bilang paghahanda sa nasabing kaganapan.

O n the afternoon of September
8, 2018 St. Augustine Academy of
Bayawan, Inc., held a sport that
does not balls neither nets but the
art of dancing. Dance sport is divid-
ed into 2 categories it is the Latin
and Standard. The parts of Latin are
CHACHA,JIVE, AND RUMBA
while Standard are WALTZ, TAN-
GO, AND FOXTROT. It was held
at Barangay Banga Gymnassium.
In the highschool level Janelle Kate
Marie Acibo and Fred Portugaleza
garnerd the awards on the Latin
category while the second are Dan
Macabinguil and Mikaela Bienes,
third are Ed Caingcoy and Kristine
Aborido from the Grade 12. On the
Standard the winners are Hannah
Rodriguez and John Rio, second are
Carlos Elviña and Kayla Gaudiel of
Grade 8 and the last but not the least
are Justine Diploma and Ivan Barte.
It ended by a big applause and
uncontrollable cheering with the
students to their classmates and
schoolmates even some faculty
and staff with some barangay of-
ficials. Even though some partic-
ipants did not claim any awards
it ended cheerfully and joyfully.

Quinanola pero hindi pa rin nawalan ng pag-
asa ang manlalaro ng Altruismo at ipinatu-
loy ang laro. Nakagoal na naman si Jason
Jordan at ginawa ang laro sa iskor na 4-1.
Pero hindi na binigyan ng tyansa ng Cari-
tas ang koponan ng Altruismo at nakagoal
na naman si Abelardo Jon Jose Mamaradlo
at ginawang 5-1 ang iskor..At hanggang
natapos na ang oras ng laro sa iskor na 5-1.
Nagdiwang at Nagsaya ang mga manlalaro
ng Caritas at napuno ng pagkagalak dahil
ito ang unang kampyeonatong nakamit ng
Bahay ng Caritas sa SAA Intramurals 2018.

the highlighted games was the badminton
match. The game was divided into four
categories- badminton singles girls, bad-
minton singles boys, badminton doubles
girls, and badminton doubles boys. The
game took four days, including the semi-fi-
nals and the championship. The overall
winners were all announced on September
10, 2018, Monday afternoon- from the el-
ementary singles girls, 3rd place was from
Grade 4, 2nd place was from Grade 5, and
1st place was from grade 6. For the high
school, 3rd place was from the Grade 9,
2nd place was from Grade 8, and 1st place
was from the Grade 10. For the elementary
doubles girls, 3rd place was from Grade 4,
2nd place was from Grade 5, and 1st place
was from Grade 6. For the high school, 3rd
place was from the Grade 10, 2nd place
was from the Grade 7, and 1st place was
from the grade 11. For the elementary sin-
gles boys, 3rd place was from Grade 5,
2nd place was from Grade 4, and 1st place
was from Grade 6. For the high school,
3rd place was from the Grade 9, 2nd place
was from the Grade 10, and first place was
from the Grade 11. For the elementary
doubles boys, 3rd place from Grade 5, 2nd

Lastly for the High school, we have Grade
