II. Session Outline
Session Title: “Promoting Cooperation in Intercultural Understanding”
Session Objectives: At the end of the session, learners will be able to:
a. Understand the importance of cooperation in intercultural
understanding;
b. Promote empathy, respect, and understanding of different cultures;
c. Exhibit cooperative behaviors in a diverse setting.
Key Concepts:
 Cooperation is the process of working together to achieve a common
goal or objective. It involves individuals or groups voluntarily
coordinating their efforts, resources, and skills in order to achieve
mutual benefit, solve problems, or address challenges.
 Intercultural understanding is a combination of knowledge about other
cultures at a cognitive level, combined with a set of attitudes at the
affective level. Knowledge includes knowledge about one's own
culture, other cultures, and the similarities and differences between
cultures.
 Promoting cooperation in intercultural understanding develops
students’ abilities to communicate and empathize with others and to
analyze intercultural experiences critically.
 Successful intercultural understanding often require respect empathy,
and the ability to navigate and appreciate cultural diversity.
