II. Session Outline
Session Title: “Promoting Cooperation in Intercultural Understanding”
Session Objectives: At the end of the session, learners will be able to:
a. Understand the importance of cooperation in intercultural
understanding;
b. Promote empathy, respect, and understanding of different cultures;
c. Exhibit cooperative behaviors in a diverse setting.
Key Concepts:
Cooperation is the process of working together to achieve a common
goal or objective. It involves individuals or groups voluntarily
coordinating their efforts, resources, and skills in order to achieve
mutual benefit, solve problems, or address challenges.
Intercultural understanding is a combination of knowledge about other
cultures at a cognitive level, combined with a set of attitudes at the
affective level. Knowledge includes knowledge about one's own
culture, other cultures, and the similarities and differences between
cultures.
Promoting cooperation in intercultural understanding develops
students’ abilities to communicate and empathize with others and to
analyze intercultural experiences critically.
Successful intercultural understanding often require respect empathy,
and the ability to navigate and appreciate cultural diversity.
