1.1 Project Description

The work performed by organizations is termed as a project. This project is a short-term venture

to create a unique service or product. Projects are dealt with and handled at every level of the

company.

The SET Indigenisation Committee has endeavoured to show respect to the traditional keepers of

the lands the CQU campuses are founded on. Educational centres are proposed to be built across

five CQU campuses located at Melbourne, Perth, Rockhampton, Sydney, and Brisbane.

To carry out this project, suitable land space must be sourced and secured to convert them into

educational centres. Organizing opening ceremonies that pay tribute to the traditional caretakers

of the lands is also what the Committee is focusing on. Additionally, the Committee wishes to

have native members of the local community as one of the major stakeholders in this project.

2.3 Stakeholder Communication

Communication Method Interactive, Pull or Push Justification

A verbal, face-to-face Interactive The idea of educational

communication method hubs affiliated to

universities might be new to

the indigenous community.

Therefore, properly gauging

their reaction to this idea

through interactive

communication is important

3.1 Requirements Management

Response Table

Having one stakeholder in the project is a better idea because multiple stakeholders can make

matters complicated. One stakeholder might be more useful with regard to the objectives of the

project, whereas some stakeholders can be more demanding and exhausting (Eskerod & Jepsen,

2016)

3.2 Opening statement style

Response Table

The campus leaders must begin their opening ceremony speech with ‘Acknowledgement of

Country’ since such acknowledgment pays respect to the traditional custodians and ancestors,

cultural and religious practices of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Moreover, it
8

helps to increase awareness and acceptance of Australia’s native people, culture and heritage

(Bullen & Flavell, 2017).

3.3 REQUIREMENTS GATHERING FOR CQU EDUCATIONAL HUBS FOR

INDIGENOUS STUDIES PROJECT

Response Table

Using the documentation of the Vietnamese community educational hub is the best way to gather

information about the requirements of the indigenous people since the overall budget of the project

is low. It is an effective cost-cutting and time-saving measure to get the work done (Du, 2017).

3.4 REQUIREMENTS TRACEABILITY

Response Table

For the current project, using a change management document would be ideal as this type of

document records all the progress and changes made to a system. Since multiple campuses are

involved, this type of documentation is especially beneficial.

3.5 REQUIREMENTS PRIORITIZATION PROCESS

Response Table

Prioritization of the requirements makes sure that evaluation and execution endeavours are focussed

on the most crucial requirements. It is essential for the success of any project. There are several

business aspects which include cost, value, risk, difficulty in execution, urgency, agreement of the
9
Running head: CQU EDUCATIONAL HUBS FOR INDIGENOUS STUDIES PROJECT

stakeholders, interdependence of requirements, and compliance with regulations. Some

prioritization methods involve binary search tree, the Money Game, Kano analysis, Wiegers’

method, theory W, and AHP.

3.6 MoSCoW Technique

# Components Explanation

1. M - Must have Identifying cost savings, sourcing facility

space, maximum costs must be $100,000.

2. S - Should have Organizing opening ceremonies at every

3. C - Could have Secured facilities, meals, water systems

4. W - Would have Educational facilities, job opportunities,

etc.

4.1 Introduction to scope

Response Table

Organizing the work of an enterprise into manageable segments requires Work Breakdown

Structure (WBS) software. The work package is the lowest level of WBS.
