lesson 2. Story: Jong and Jing
Written by: Elisa S. Marcelino
One Saturday morning, the weather was good. Jong and Jing agreed to go to the hill for a picnic. They asked permission from
their parents then went to the hill. They prepared some foods and bottled water and placed in a basket. They also put in the
basket the hat, sunblock lotion and sunglasses. Jing got her long sleeves shirt also. They likewise brought with them their
kites.
At the hill, they put their things under the shade of a tree. After eating, they played their kites. Jing wore first her long sleeves
shirt then the hat. She also wore her sunglasses.
“The weather is hot,” told Jing while drinking water.
“It doesn’t matter. Come on! It’s nice to play kites now,” answered Jong.
After playing with their kites, they went to the pond at the foot of the hill.
“Apply some sunblock lotion first on your skin and drink water before swimming,” reminded Jing to Jong.
“No need!” said Jong.
It’s already late in the afternoon when Jong and Jing went home.
“Your skin was sunburned,” Jing said.
“I noticed it, too. I even have a headache now,” exclaimed Jong.
