 To share the knowledge about engine over heat.

Problem/ Complaint

Engine over heat.

Symptom

Appear thecoolant temperature alarm at IECU.

Troubleshooting /Service Step

We inspect the machine visually and check the coolant condition and then take out the thermostat from
engine and then we test the thermostat in the boiling water (100 C) in which thermostat didn’t open yet that
why which is abnormal condition. Normally thermostat start to open at 82 C to reduce the engine coolant
temperature. So we change the new one and test the machine again. After all, machine is good condition.

Analysis

The possible causes are

(i) Coolant quality

(ii) Water pump
(iii) Water Pump belt
(iv) Thermostat
(v) Coolant temperature sensor

Action and Suggestion

Service team should be checked this kind of point during AI, PDI,DI and regular maintenance as well.
