MONHS HOLDS ITS SUPREME STUDENT


GOVERNMENT SYNCHRONIZED ELECTION
2020

As informed in School Memo No. 6 S. 2020 dated February 4, 2020 on the conduct of
Supreme Student Government election activities, the Mt. Olive National High School held a
synchronized elections for MONHS SSG S.Y. 2020-2021 from February 4, 2020 at Mt. Olive
National High School, Mt. Olive, Bayugan City.

This action was taken in response to DepEd Memo No. 49 s. 2016 entitled Synchronized
Supreme Pupil Government and Supreme Student Government Elections for School Year 2020-
2021. It aims to develop students into well-equipped leaders who can take their place responsibly in
service to the school and community as well.

Last February 14, 2020 the SSG Election activities took place. There were two participating
parties the DEBOT and the Systematic Action Leads to Integrity,(SALIG). Both parties have lined-
up candidates willing to be in the position they desired. A number of 132 students participated the
said election.

The filling of Certificates of Candidacy (COC) Took place on February 6-7, 2020 and were
passed together with a recommending letter from their different subject teachers and a consent letter
duly signed by their guardian/ parents. Prior to this, the currently SSG adviser Ma. Rheza T. Oropa
held a meeting with the aspiring SSG officers letting them know their responsibilities and future
consequences as student leaders.

Right after filling their COC’s, a closed-door screening and interview was held in Grade 10
room. The candidates were interviewed by several teachers and one student representative. This
screening aimed to test the candidates’ determination and will in becoming student-leaders of
MONHS.
On February 7, 2020 the official list of candidates for SSG elections of officers S.Y 2020-
2021 was formally posted and announced to the students. They were called for final instructions
and activities. After which, the campaign period officially started.

On February 13, 2020 1 o’clock in the


morning held a candidate debates or Miting de Avance at MONHS
Function Hall. Each Presidential presented their platforms for the
next School Year. All of the candidates re-introduce their selves
and proved their capabilities worthy for the position they are Official list of Candidates

running for. Several students and former SSG officers had also
their chances of asking several relevant questions to the candidates and they were also able to
answer the questions thrown to them.

On February 14, 2020, the synchronized election took place. This was administered by the
School COMELEC Officials. After this breathtaking election
of officers, the COMELEC officials headed by the SSG adviser
started to open the ballot box and counted each votes.

On March 4, 2020 during MONHS Foundation Day, the newly elected SSG officials
officially have their oath of office. Jellianne E. Cabualan conducted the said oath taking ceremony.
