RESOLUTION NO.

58 - 2020

WHEREAS, the Philippine Constitution mandates the state to protect and


promote the right to health of the Filipino people and instill the consciousness among
them;

WHEREAS, the Municipality of Plaridel is the second largest municipality in the


entire Province of Misamis Occidental with fast growing population of over Forty
Thousand (40,000) that is the reason for an increasing need to improve the health
services through responding effectively to urgent health concerns of the constituents;

WHEREAS, the Local Government Unit of Plaridel, Misamis Occidental has been
operating a 24-hours Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Team for emergency response
in strong support with the mandate of President Rodrigo R. Duterte in addition to the
medical and health services of the Municipal Health Office in Plaridel, Misamis
Occidental;

WHEREAS, Plaridel has only one public hospital which is limited to treatment of
minor ailments due to insufficient facilities. Therefore, in most health cases, the patients
from this municipality are forwarded either to the Misamis Occidental Provincial Hospital
located in Oroquieta City which is 24 kilometers away;

WHEREAS, at present, the municipality only has one (1) unit municipal
ambulance donated by the First District Representative, Hon. Diego C. Ty, thus only one
(1) ambulance vehicle is used in the Rural Health Unit of Plaridel which apparently
cannot cater to the urgent health needs of all the Plaridel populace;

WHEREAS, the Local Officials and the constituents of Plaridel earnestly desire to
obtain one (1) new ambulance vehicle for the purpose of saving lives and responding to
emergencies as a crucial responsibility of the MDRRM and ensure the promotion of
public health through the improvement of the medical services of the Municipal Health
Office (MHO), and to fully equip the Plaridel Community Hospital as a basic requirement
for its operationalization;

WHEREAS, the donation of a Patient Transport Vehicle to LGU-Plaridel from the


Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office will ensure a more effective and efficient delivery
of health services and will also enhance the capabilities of this LGU in bringing its
services closer to the people even those that are living in the remote areas so as to
promote public health.

WHEREFORE, upon thorough deliberation, the members of the Sangguniang Bayan,


on motion of SB Member Algelyn B. Paradiang, waiving the pertinent rules, duly
seconded by SB Member Prince Kien M. Bandiala, the Sangguniang Bayan Members –
