Preface
The following publication (WB) is aimed at developing and training “use of
language skills” and comprises a set of language and speech tasks and exercises
based on the book by O.S.Bogomolov “Manual of English for marine mechanical
engineers”(SB). Both the textbook and the given workbook are oriented toward 3 rd
and 4th year students of engineering and automation faculties. The given Workbook
presents the tasks and exercises based on the following topics from the SB: (the
original numeration is observed):
III.I.A. Plant Components
III.I.B. Steam Systems
III.I.C. Condensate and Feed Systems
Altogether 28 topics.
Different professional topics are more or less bulky as for the volume of the
materials presented, so they contain different sets of tasks and exercises, main of
which are: vocabulary matching; grammar ; translation; terms explanation; asking
questions; etc.
The book will hopefully meet the urgent demand of maritime cadets and
students to master professional terminology and to acquire speaking practical skills,
conversing, communicating professional topics in multinational crews.
