The monthly VFW Post #3107 meeting was a District 2 and the State of Montana! But this isn’t the
little crowded Thursday evening. Valley County only award presented at the VFW Thursday. More
Chief Deputy Joe Tihlarik was presented “Law details on that and more information on Joe’s award

webinar for ranchers on Monday
A webinar featuring state Range, Beef Cattle and
Sheep Extension specialists from Montana, South
Dakota, Nebraska, and Idaho will take place on Monday,
March 14 starting at noon
The webinar is being hosted by Ward Laboratories,
Inc. of Nebraska and will feature a panel discussion on
the current drought conditions in each state and how
producers are mitigating the challenges.

The deadline for grants from the Valley County
Community Foundation is fast approaching.
Applications must be post marked by Friday, March
18, and the form is available at www.valleycountycf.
net.
VCCF provides grants to organizations within
Valley County with the 501(c)(3) charitable IRS
designation, along with local governments and
educational institutions. Groups with projects
expected to be completed by Oct. 1, 2022, are welcome
to apply.
Last year, nine organizations received grants
totaling $33,473. Amounts to each organization varied
by the cost of the project, with the largest grant in 2021
being $10,000 and the lowest $1,500. The Foundation
has awarded $292,587 in 21 years.

They were within four points but
the defensive pressure was too much
for the Glasgow Scotties. The Scotties,
playing in their first State Class B
tournament since 1997 took on a tough
Coltrip team in an opening round game
at Brick Breeden Fieldhouse on the
campus of the Montana State University
in Bozeman.
The Thursday contest saw Costrip
gallop out to a 6-0 lead and a 15-8 first
quarter lead. Glasgow trimmed the lead
to 17-13 on Daley Aune’s bucket early in
the second, but the Scotties still trailed
25-17 at the break.
Glasgow came out aggressive in
the third, scoring three points to cut the
lead to 25-20 on Tyann Graham’s bucket
and a free throw from Sabrina Harsh.
Colstrip finished the third on a 11-2 run
for a 36-22 lead.
Abrianna Nielsen drained a three
ball and Blaire Westby scored on a
jumper as the Scotties trimmed the
Fillies lead to 36-27. But theFillies got
buckets from Canzas HisBadHorse and
Gracie Bradley for a 40-27 lead. Glasgow
went on a 6-0 run on a bucket and two
throws from Nielsen and two more
throws from Westby.
Colstrip’s defense took over for
the remainder of the game to keep the
Scotties from getting any closer. Colstrip
shot 46 percent from the field, while the
Scotties hit 33 percent. Bradley led the
Fillies with 12 points, Malea Egan and
HisBadHorse followed with 10 points
each.

One very pertinent query I have is this: how much
money and military equipment is being sent to Ukraine by
France, Germany, Sweden, South America, Spain, Moldavia,
Belarus and the rest of Ukraine’s neighbors? How much is
the Ukrainian Mob, centered mostly in New Jersey, sending
their fellow Ukies?
Joe and Hunter Biden are beholding to Ukraine from
all the oil business and other clandestine business they’ve
reaped from that foreign country. Some estimates go as
high as $30 million from Ukraine to the Biden family. So,
that said, who is more important to our present C-in-C
(Chump-in-Charge) in the White House....kissing Ukraine
behinds, or taking that 13 billion in aid to Ukraine and using
it to help some of our homeless. The $1.5 T bill passed the
House in the dead of night when most of the House were
home sleeping or waiting for a bus...very much like what
happened to get the Federal Reserve Act of 1913 passed
during the Christmas break when only enough Senators
were on hand to vote.
Folks, I don’t know if you’re aware of what’s happening
in our beloved United States of America today but one
thing is etched in stone.....We cannot trust our present
government or its administrators.
When taking care of foreign nations becomes more
important than taking care of our own our country is in
deep ca ca.
I mentioned the homeless. Did you know that a goodly
portion (about 85%) of our homeless people are either
former American Military Veterans or teenage runaways?
Those are the folks we’re tossing under the proverbial 20
mule team wagon. The money Biden promised Ukraine
would go a long long way to helping some of our own. I
saw a lot of them on my recent 4,000 mile road trip to our
southern border. Las Vegas has it’s own tent city and several
other locations filled with tents and crude shelters and
homeless kids and wounded veterans. Why the hell aren’t
they important to Biden? Because they’re indigent! They
can’t fill the Biden coffers now or after he is voted out of
office by a landslide victory never seen since the defunct
Carter administration....(God Bless you Jimmie! You tried.
You are an honest person...and “an honest person” used
with the word “government” is, as we know, an oxy-moron.)
Aahh quit it! I’m as humanitarian as the next feller and
I can’t even imagine what the Ukrainian people are going
through. We could lend a hand but in all fairness, so can
their neighbors. Seems Poland is doing it’s best to help the
Ukrainian Jew population and good on them.
So why don’t we hear about the rest of the surrounding
nations jumping to the aid of their neighbor. I’ll tell you
why....they’re all a’skeered of Putin.
On another quick note about the escalating gas prices.
It’s Biden’s wish to convert all planes, trains and automobiles
to electric power. How? By cutting off Trump’s OK of the
Keystone Pipe line, fighting for the Russian pipeline and
then begging OPEC to drill more wells! He’s even thinking of
begging for crude oil from Venezuela, a staunch ally of Russia!
So sanction Russia oil but order oil from a pal of Putin. Cut
the blanket off one end and sew it onto the other end.

UPDATE CLARIFICATION
RELATING TO WATER/SEWER
RATE HEARING
Some are of the impression that the Water/
Sewer District has $1.5 million dollars of Grant money
to spend? Wrong, that money is in a “Flow Through
Bank Account” and is released in “Project Draws” to
Great West Engineering. The Water/Sewer operation
is run solely on customer revenue and Valley County
back tax revenue and Sheriff sale monies.
Great West Engineering of Billings did the
Engineering and Grant Writing requests and hires
and supervises Project contract labor.... this is the
reason that they lead the Rate Hearings which is a
part of the financial compliance to satisfy all Grant
agencies. (USDA, DEQ, SRF, Valley County)
Some expressed concerns of overspending by the
Water/Sewer Board? As other water companies go,
“Do what you must to keep the operation running.”
1. 60 year old pipes break and must be repaired or
replaced to restore service. Corrosion, ground
settling- broken joints, tree root damage.
2. Stable qualified labor is needed to maintain the
health and safety issues of the Water/Sewer
operation and keep us in compliance with all
agencies.
3. An old Bond payment and Dry Prairie water bill
add to the financial obligation, and now Inflation
pressures.
