STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
MY PRAYER

Thank you for allowing me to share my knowledge with the next generation. Thank

you for allowing me to participate in the lives of these amazing children. I totally embrace

this obligation. In order to provide my students with the information they require,

Allow me to serve as the second parent they require at school. Remind me of the

reasons I’m in this field at all times, to instruct the children and to serve you. Lord,

provide me with patience when I am in a circumstance that requires it. Fill my heart with

love, even when they are at their most unlovable. Give me patience when it comes to

teaching students who are slow to learn or refuse to learn. Please fill me with joy as I

confront each sort of student on a daily basis.

Allow me to be the person they require. Allow me to be dependable when they

require it. Let me sympathize if they require it. Let me be the authority to guide them if

they needed to be disciplined. With a combination of sternness and tenderness.

I know I am far from perfect, but I know I can do anything with you because I know

you’ll always be there to turn my flaws into assets. I make my request in the name of our

Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Alright. I got this editorial cartoon

from the newspaper, Philippines
Today. What have you observed? - The picture shows social
classes.
- The picture shows differences
in social status.
- The picture shows rich and

- The picture shows inequality.

Excellent everyone! Thank you for

your responses. All your answers are

into the cartoon. - Yes, ma’am.
Class, do you still see this situation

- If everyone is treated fairly,
Very good! What else? everyone will be able to solve
problems and work together.
Treating people equally means
treating them the same, regardless of
their race, gender, social status, or
anything else like that. Most
importantly, we treat other people
fairly to avoid discrimination.
C. Presentation of the Lesson
Probably you are wondering why I
presented you that cartoon related to
inequality. It is because we are going
to discuss Marxism today.
At the end of this lesson, these are
the learning competencies that we’re - 1. Identify the principles of
going to develop. Marxist approach
- 2. Critique literary texts
applying Marxist approach;
and
- 3. Demonstrate appreciation
to one’s role in the society.

D. Lesson Proper
For us to better understand how the
Marxist Literary Approach works, it - Marxism is a social, political,
is important to learn about what and economic theory which
Marxism is. Kindly read focuses on the struggle
between capitalists and the
working class.

Thank you. Do you have any idea - Karl Marx is the proponent of
who the proponent of Marxism is? Marxism theory who lived in
London at the time of
industrialization and travelled
extensively through Europe.
He saw a highly developed
continent where the tensions
ran high because of social
inequality.

Based on the theories of Karl Marx

and influenced by the philosopher
Friedrich Engels, Marxism is
concerned with class differences. It
started at the time of
industrialization. What does - Industrialization is the

country.
Brilliant! Industrialization is the
period of social and economic
change that transforms a human
group from agrarian society into
industrial society.

According to Marxist theory, society

is a struggle between the capitalist

classless society? social classes are in conflict,
and there is no government

That’s it! To summarize, Marxism

focuses on class differences and the
conflict between them. Now that
you’ve learned the theory of
Marxism, we can now proceed to our
