Purpose
Note :
The maximum reverse power rating of the generator is approximately 30%, however
the relay should be set so as to trip in the event of shear pin failure. In which case
the generator would only draw approximately 1.2 % of it's power rating as no-load
losses.
This is then referred to the secondary side of the VTs and CTs using the formula:
PNo−load _ Loss U Machine I
Setting = * * Machine

Power Setting P> REVERSE Trip
t 3s
Purpose
This function protects against a loss of power to the exciter
creating the electric fields within the generator.

This function monitors the earth fault currents as well as the neutral voltage
displacement in order to determine whether the fault is a machine fault or
a network fault.

Siemens recommendation is that a 60/1 A core balance CT is used for this application.
Regardless of core balance CT used, ensure a sensitive input to address 5003 as
recommended above. Site commissioning will determine whether this is overly sensitive.

A setting between 10-20% of Idiff / In is
recommended for generators.
I-DIFF> 0.1
I-DIFF>> Trip
A setting 10% above the steady state transient
short circuit current is recommended.
Choose a value greater than 4.03 and between 3 and 7.
