INTRODUCTION 4.1 Purpose of Specification This specification details the ’inimum requirements for the design, fabrication, inspection and testing, and supply of an 11kV ESP Power Generation Package. This specification should be read in conjunction with the requirements detailed in equipment datasheets and the equipment material requisition. Compliance with this Project Specification does not relieve the SUPPLIER from meeting the requirements of the ultimate User or his nominated representative when stipulated in the Material Requisition. 1.2__Definitions COMPANY BP. This approach should allow the most stringent and safest requirement applicable to the project to prevail to the extent ofthe inconsistency, conflict or discrepancy. SUPPLIER shall advise CONTRACTOR in writing of any conflict between the referenced documents and any technical specification, CONTRACTOR shall determine which shall govern. EQUIPMENT SCOPE OF SUPPLY 34 General 3.1.1 The SUPPLIER shall have single point responsibilty for all aspects of the works, inclusive of all components sub-contracted or purchased from other parties. The scope of supply for the Power Generation Package shall include the equipment components and services as listed below. 3.1.2 The Power Generation Package shall include a combined cluster of Diesel Power Generation Sets and Generator Switchboard to provide electrical power to VSD driven electric submersible pumps and wellhead services located at various wellhead installations. SUPPLIER shall advise number of generator sets required to meet a total load demand of SOQOKVA in an N+ configuration, which shall be 4 or 5 sets depending on the SUPPLIER’s range. All units will be required to run, however if one generator trips the remaining units will have to share the total load. ‘The SUPPLIER shall offer identical generator sets in a modular arrangement such that if a reduced load is required one unit can be removed. The generator switchboard configuration will remain the same regardless of the number of generator sets. Assurance of stability of supply is always required such that if one generator trips the remaining generators can share the total load Le. a spinning reserve is required. 3.1.3 The Power Generation Package shall also include self-standing fuel storage tanks sized to supply fuel at full engine power for a minimum of 7 days, fuel transfer pumps (if required), fuel distribution pipework, valving, supports and all necessary instrumentation. Tanks shall be sized so that itis possible to re-locate the cluster. The Power Generation Package shall also include a containerised Sub-station and Fuel Level Monitoring Instrument Panel for monitoring the fuel levels in the Fuel Storage Tanks, al inter-connecting cabling, cable trays, earthing & lightning protection system. The Sub-station shall be suitable for a total load demand of S000KVA. Each Power Generation Set shall be transportable i.e. containerised diese! generator with transportable fuel storage tanks. KV ESP POWER GENERATION PACKAGE 4, DESIGN AND MATERIALS 4.1 General 4.4.1 The package SUPPLIER shall be responsible for matching the power and torque requirements of the generator with the engine. 41.2 Except for routine maintenance engines shall be designed for uninterrupted operation at design conditions. The equipment will be installed on concrete foundations and shall be designed for an outdoor location in a dust storm environment 4.2 Engine 4.2.4 The engine drivers shall be designed and constructed in accordance with ISO 3046 as modified by document mo. 00100W-C-G0-G000-ME-SPC-0020 Specification for Reciprocating Diesel Engines and this specification. 4.2.2 The Power Generation Package shall be installed in a safe area. Ventilation equipment, electrical equipment and instrumentation shall be suitable for a safe area. Gas detection is not required 4.2.3 The generator and/ or engine driver shall be capable of 10% overload (110% of continuous power) for a period of one hour within 12 hours of operation. 4.2.4 Skids shall comply with requirements of Project specification “Fabrication & Erection of Structural Steelwork’ "00100W-C-G0-G000-ST-SPC-0001" listed in the Material Requisition 4.2.5 The engine type shall be a four-stroke naturally aspirated or turbo-charged engine with inter- cooling if necessary. 4.2.6 The engine governor and fuel control system shall be designed such that external power sources are not required for their operation, i.e. the engine, must be capable of being started and run normally when all extemal power supplies have failed. An electronic governor shall be used. 427 — Over-speed shutdown shall be by both fuel cut-off and air intake valve closure. The over- speed protection system shall operate without the need for electrical power. Once the over- speed protection system has operated, it shall not be possible to restart the engine without manually resetting the over-speed device and the air intake valve. During this time an alarm activation shall be considered. 42.8 Engine shall be supplied with an explosion relief valve on the crankcase, together with an engine breather. if not suitable, a flame arrestor only with condensate traps shall be installed. The engine bar-over facility shall be detachable after maintenance. An interlock shall be provided to prevent the engine from being started with the barring gear still connected. The engine shall be provided with rotation arrows and engine nameplates. As a minimum, engine nameplates shall be engraved with engine rating data firing order, serial number and year manufactured. Hot surfaces shall be isolated from personnel, oil leaks, fuel leaks and discharge from the engine breather by re-routing, insulation or screening All belts shall be anti-static, fire-resistant and adequately guarded. Belt guards shall be designed to accommodate the full belt adjustment and shall be manufactured from a non- sparking material. Exhaust emissions shall be provided by the engine manufacturer and stated in the mechanical data sheet. Catalytic converters shall be used in the exhaust system (if required to meet emission standards) for environmental protection. Combustion Air Intake System The SUPPLIER shall provide an intake system suitable for the environmental conditions defined as per the Basic Engineering Design Data (BEDD) “00100W-C-G0- G000-GE-BOD- 0001". In particular specific attention shall be made to inlet air ducting to mitigate exposure to sandstorms, ‘The SUPPLIER shall provide a combustion air intake valve, which will close automatically in the event of engine over-speed. In addition, it shall be fitted with a manual reset facility ‘The SUPPLIER shall provide all ductwork between intake filters and engine. ‘The SUPPLIER shall provide all flexible bellows between the supplied equipment and the ductwork, Exhaust System The SUPPLIER shall supply the engine exhaust manifold, flexible expansion bellows unit exhaust outlet flaps and silencer/spark arrestor which shall be mounted on the engine. Equipment shall be supplied with ASME flanged connections. If required, the exhaust manifold and turbocharger shall be water cooled and fed from the engine cooling system. A temperature gauge shall be fitted to indicate exhaust temperature. ‘The exhaust system shall be manufactured in 316L S.S. The SUPPLIER shall also have the responsibility to ensure that the complete exhaust system satisfies the noise levels specified on the data sheets.
