bluebells & primroses of Riccal Dale with possible sightings of goldcrest,
woodpecker & nuthatch The walk includes some moderate inclines. Bring

Skelton Village Trust AGM & Speaker Evening, Tuesday, May 6th at 7.30
p.m. in Skelton Village Hall. Following the brief AGM, local historian Peter
Stanhope will give an illustrated talk on "Skelton Hall - Its Story and Its

Rectory Book Group Do you enjoy reading a wide range of books? New

Police Surgery for Skelton Ward The next surgery will be held in
Skelton Village Hall on Wednesday May 7th from 5.00 - 6.00pm. Residents
are invited to come along & talk to our Safer Neighbourhood Officer, PCSO
Grace Lawrence about any issues.
Lent Lunch raised £53.40 for Carecent. Thank you to all who attended
and helped on the day
May Fayre at Skelton Primary School Friday May 9th, 3.30 - 5.00 pm.
Many stalls including tombola, raffle & refreshments. All welcome. Profits
raised will go to Skelton Primary School PTA who are currently raising
money to improve the outdoor play equipment in school
Skelton Squirrels Pre-school, Located in Skelton School from 9am to
3.15pm Monday to Friday. We offer a high standard of child care for

SHIPTON WITH OVERTON NEWS
Shipton Parish Council AGM & Annual Parish Meeting. Meet in the
Community Centre Committee Room Wednesday May 21st at 7.30pm.
Shipton Pre-school. Our highly qualified pre-school team offer fun activities
to develop the confidence, imagination and independence of children aged 2-
5 years. If you would like a free taster session or more information please

Toddlers - this is a lively group for children aged 0-5 meeting each Tuesday
from 9.30 to 11.30 (new start time) in the Community Centre and run by our

social skills whilst parents/carers can enjoy a coffee, chat and play. Come

Bell ringing and June coffee morning. The June coffee morning will be held at
The Cornmill, Manor Farm, Shipton, Saturday June 7th, 11am - 12.30pm. The St.
Matthew Church, Chapel Allerton bell ringers will perform. There will be craft, cake,
card & tombola stalls for which contributions will be gratefully received ahead of the

Shipton by Beningbrough Playground Committee thanks everyone who
supported the Bingo Night in the Dawnay Arms on April 3rd. We raised £150.00
towards the new Playground equipment. A huge thank you to Garry & Pam for
hosting the event & thanks to The Dawnay Arms, The Sidings, Browns, Huttons,
The Van Centre, Creepy Crawlies, Toni & Guy, Treboom & the Fish & Chip Van for
donating prizes. We need volunteers to come & join the Playground Committee,

costs associated with academic or vocational training. Grants are at the discretion of
Trustees and applications will not be considered for expenditure that has been
incurred more than six months prior to the date of application. Applications must
always include name, address, date of birth and full details of books, equipment or
other expenditure that is the subject of the application, including evidence of the
expenditure. Parents or guardians may apply on behalf of persons aged 17 years or

Newton on Ouse Parish Hall 100 Club latest draw took place on April 2nd &
the lucky winners were: £30 – Mike Southwell (number 2); £15 – Derek
Jenkinson (number 56); & £15 – Reg Parr (number 8). This was the first draw
of the third season of the Newton on Ouse Parish Hall 100 Club. It is still not

Annual Meeting of Newton on Ouse Parish Council, Thursday May 15th
7.30pm followed by the Annual Parish Meeting - all parish electors invited
to attend the Annual Parish Meeting & this is more of a social meeting where
the Parish Council can explain what it has been doing over the last year & also
electors talk on anything they consider is important to the people of the Parish
Newton Walkers. If you would like some fresh air with good company, & get a
little bit fitter, then join the Newton Walkers. We usually meet on The Green in
Newton at 9.30 on the fourth Thursday of each month, & aim to walk about 5
or 6 miles in the glorious Yorkshire countryside, finishing with a packed lunch
or a bar meal. Our 2014 dates are as follows: Sunday May 25, June 15, 16
and 17 (coastal walks, staying near Whitby), July 24, August 28, September
