W e are so grateful for a truly inspiring and encouraging
visit from the Archdeacon of York over a weekend. In her
sermon, she reminded us that the Bible contains God’s

Skelton Walking Group Our next walk is on Saturday April 1st. Meet on the
Green at 9.30am. It's a 6 mile moderate walk, starting near Fadmoor, Kirkdale.

Christian Aid Week May 14th – 20th.There will be a house to house

Mobile Library in Skelton. The Mobile Library visits Skelton every two weeks.
As well as borrowing books & audio books, you can update your library card or

2.00pm to 2.45pm & Brecksfield from 2.50pm to 4.00pm. Mondays April 10th

Skelton Community Primary School The New Breakfast Club (07:30-08:45)

Shipton Parish Council Meeting, Community Centre Committee Room,

Shipton Community Cafe - every Tuesday at Shipton Space, The
Methodist Chapel, 2pm until 4.30pm. Refreshments, homemade cakes,
fresh produce, tuck shop, gifts and cards. All ages welcome
Shipton Chill Zone Youth Club, at Shipton Space, Main Street, Shipton by
Beningbrough. For young people from the surrounding villages, in school
years 6 to 9. Runs fortnightly on a Thursday 19:00-20:30. Next meeting
April 27th. £1.50 entry, includes drink and a snack. Lots of great activities

Holy Evangelists is starting a fund to install a toilet in church. Initially we
are asking individuals to save £2 a week for a year by providing jam jars
with a 52-week calendar on to help keep track. If you would like to help
please contact Rev. Trev or pop into church to pick up a jar.
Is 11.00am the right time for our morning service? There is a feeling
that 10.00am would be preferred and Rev Trev would like your thoughts.

Forest of Galtres Primary School We marked Fairtrade Fortnight by holding a
Fairtrade themed day in school, with representatives from Traidcraft and Shared
Earth, as well as Fairtrade refreshments for families and a song written
especially for the occasion by Mrs Chapman! Thank you to everyone who
supported the day. We have started a consultation with the community about
developing the Early Years provision in the area along with Shipton Pre-School.
The school is looking to create a Foundation Stage class which will admit
children aged 3-4 (the year before they currently start school); with Shipton Pre-
School planning to come onto the school site with provision for 2-3 year olds.
This means we will be able to offer the full 30 funded hours for parents in the
area, and work together to take advantage of the school site and grounds, as
well as building on the strong transitions already in place between school and
pre-school. Please keep sending in your shoes for our 'Sal's Shoes' box in the

Newton on Ouse Parish Hall 100 Club. The March draw took place at the
Parish Hall AGM on February 27th and the lucky winners were Reg Parr (£30),
Pete and Jennie Lavelle (£15) and David Fielding (£15). The new year of the
100 Club – which plays a vital role in supporting our Parish Hall – starts in April
so if you would like to renew your membership or join please contact Wendy
on 844036. It only costs £2 a month!
Mrs Evy Wardill would like to thank everyone who supported her coffee
morning at Watermeadow in March. A wonderful total of £243 was raised for
church funds. The PCC would also like to extend their warmest thanks to Mrs
Wardill for hosting the event.
