Skelton Walking Group Saturday March 5th. Meet on the village green, for a
9.30am departure, for a 6 mile circular walk from Weeton, returning through
Rougemont, with fine views of Lower Wharfedale, followed by a pub lunch. All

Skelton Village Trust Speaker Evening and AGM Thursday April 7th at 7.30pm in
the Village Hall. Speaker Dr John Gibbins: "York in the Roman Empire" followed
by a complimentary buffet supper and glass of wine or soft drink. Admission by
complimentary ticket which will be available from committee members from mid-

Village Easter Trail - Join Giles the dog & his friends on a trail around the
Village looking for clues along the way. Sunday March 20th, £3 per sheet
includes prize for each child, max 5 persons per team. Start from Church, 1.30

Police Surgery for Skelton Ward Wednesday March 30th, from 6pm in the
Mobile Police Office (VW Transporter) which will be parked outside the Village
Hall. Residents are invited to come along and talk to our Safer Neighbourhood
Officer, PCSO Annie Lumley-Holmes about any issues.
Mobile Library in Skelton. The Mobile Library visits Skelton every two weeks.
As well as borrowing books & audio books, you can update your library card or
York Card, return books from any other York library, & request books to be
brought to Skelton for you to borrow. The library stops in Fairfields Drive from
2.00pm to 2.45pm & Brecksfield from 2.50pm to 4.00pm. Monday March 14th

Skelton Community Primary School is pleased to announce that from
September 2016 a New Breakfast Club (07:30-08:45) and After School Club
(15:30-18:00) will be available at school Monday to Friday during term time,
provided in collaboration with Yorkchildcare. To make enquiries and book

Middleton School Foundation. Applications are invited for grants offered
from the above Charity. Grants are available to persons under the age of 25 &
who live, or whose parents live, in the Parishes of Shipton or Overton. Grants
are available for costs associated with academic or vocational training. Grants
are at the discretion of Trustees & applications will not be considered for
expenditure that has been incurred more than six months prior to the date of
application. Applications must always include full details of the costs incurred,
proof of expenditure, name, address, date of birth & an email address for any
queries. Parents or guardians may apply on behalf of persons aged 17 years

Newton on Ouse Parish Hall 100 Club The lucky winners of the draw for

Roof Repair Project Success - A confirmed grant of £175,500 has been
awarded to the All Saints Roof Repair Project by the Heritage Lottery
Fund. Look out for more slates going up on the totaliser soon and we hope
it won't be too long before we can say the same about the church itself!
We’ve not quite reached our target so if you haven’t Sponsored A Slate

All Saints Church, Newton, now has a Facebook page, where you’ll find
details of exciting upcoming events as well as photos of weddings,
baptisms, etc. Please feel free to post a message there. You can find us

The Coffee Morning is on Saturday March 12th, at Orchard House, the
Hughes' household, at 10.30am with the usual stalls. Please do come
along and enjoy the morning.
Decorating the Church for Easter will take place on Saturday March 26th
at 10am. We would be grateful for any help.
Two Appointments required - Due to retirement of both the Treasurer and
Secretary of the Parish Hall we are looking for volunteers to fill these
