Christian Aid Week May 15th - 22nd. Look out for your envelope which will
be dropped through your letterbox and collected later in the week. Please
support the work of Christian Aid in Africa to help people who have nothing

Open Meeting with the Archdeacon of Generous Giving & Stewardship,
David Butterfield on Thursday May 12th at 7pm. in church. He will talk to us
about the way forward to enable our Christian community to grow & flourish

An Invitation to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday with Afternoon Tea.
Skelton Village Hall on Sunday June 12th from 2 to 4pm. If you are 90 years
old or over, you are welcome to have your tea for free. Transport can be

Police Surgery for Skelton Ward Tuesday May 24th, from 6pm in the Mobile
Police Office (VW Transporter) which will be parked outside the Village Hall.
Residents are invited to come along and talk to your local Safer Neighbourhood
Team about any issues.
Mobile Library in Skelton. The Mobile Library visits Skelton every two weeks. As
well as borrowing books & audio books, you can update your library card or York
Card, return books from any other York library, & request books to be brought to
Skelton for you to borrow. The library stops in Fairfields Drive from 2.00pm to

Skelton Community Primary School is pleased to announce that from September
2016 a New Breakfast Club (07:30-08:45) and After School Club (15:30-18:00)
will be available at school Monday to Friday during term time, provided in

Shipton Playground Committee have hired St Crux in York on Saturday July
9th to raise funds towards a nest swing as well as keeping up with Annual
maintenance costs. We need items to sell on stalls, we have space to store
items so any bric-a-brac, clothes, shoes, books/CDs/DVDs, plants (nearer
July) or anything you do not want (no electrical items) would be appreciated.
We will collect. We need cakes to sell so if you can bake it would be
appreciated. We also need plenty of helpers on the day. If you can help in

Shipton Pre-School needs your help! This long established charity is
supported by a committee of volunteers who oversee its running & strategic
direction & relies on support of the community & families of the children who
attend. Without a full Committee the pre-school cannot remain open.
Committee meetings are generally held once every half term. No prerequisite
skills required, just enthusiasm & a commitment to the community, pre-school
& the children. Being on the committee provides an opportunity to be part of a
motivated team, supporting a real asset to the community, helps develop skills
& provides experience of value to any CV. We urgently require new committee
members from the local community & would encourage anybody who is
