Item Description Done Remarks

1. Inspect for physical damage or defects.
2. Check name plate and information with drawings and
specifications as specified in Data Schedule.
3. Check secondary terminals are of non-captive pan head
screw type and accept copper cable of adequate size with a
minimum 4 mm2.
Check facility of shorting, isolating and grounding of
secondary terminals inside terminal box.
Check marking of primary and secondary terminals and
polarity as per standard.
Check the degree of protection of enclosure for secondary
terminal box.
4. Check free standing CT is provided with one ground pad.
5. Check all secondary circuit wiring ferruling at the end of each
wire and check it is identified indicating local device number
and terminal number.
6. Check facility of changing ratio from secondary terminal
blocks in panels for multi ratio CT.
7. Check that outdoor secondary wiring terminations are
installed in moisture proof enclosures.
8. Check tightness of all bolted connections (torque wrench
method).
9. Check secondary wiring is correctly color coded and size of
wires is as specified (minimum 2.5 mm2 within panels).
10. Check proper lugs have been used on terminations
according to SEC specification (ring type lugs).

Item Description Done Remarks

1. Insulation resistance test, as following:
a. Primary to ground 5kV DC for one minute.
b. Primary to secondary 2.5kV DC for one minute.
c. Secondary to ground and core to core 1kV DC for one
minute.
2. Excitation characteristics Test
3. Winding resistance (Rct) measurement. (Ambient
temperature shall be recorded; winding resistance shall be
referred to 75°C).
4. Polarity test.
5. Check Turns ratio error by current primary injection.
6. Core identification test by primary injection.
7. Determination of knee point voltage (Vk) for class P, C or K.
Check that (Vk) is matched with approved design.
8. Loop resistance measurement test (burden test).
9. Verify secondary circuits, terminals, and shorting/isolating
links by primary injection of CTs. Installation of CT direction
is as per the approved drawings and required weather proof
labels are available, and check single point earth for each CT
circuit.
10. High voltage test:
During normal HV tests on switchgear or GIS the CTs are
included in the HV test. CT secondary shall be shorted to
ground and isolated from relays and meters.
11. During stability test of power transformer, test all BCT's
(bushing current transformers). That means primary injection
test, turns ratio, check secondary circuits related to BCT by
checking short & isolate facility, measure currents at each
point of all loops and compare between measured values
and expected values.
