ENGLISH LESSON PLAN

Teacher in training: Liliana Vergara and Brayan Elexander Garzón Cortés Subject English Time:

Grade: 5-3
Main teacher: Aracely Vanegas
Goal: By the end of this lesson students will be able to identify body parts through a song.

Engage
Warm up:

At beginning of the class, the teacher will carry out with the students the warm up activity “Hot potato” and will explain the
following instructions:
The teacher will ask the students to form a circle. Then the teacher will hand a small ball to the students. After the
teacher will cover his eyes and repeat “hot potato – hot potato” several times while the children are passing the ball from
hand to hand. When the teacher says “stop”, the student who keeps the ball will have to select the picture of an animal at
random to imitate it. Annex 1. Then the teacher will ask the students for each of the instructions and finally make an
example to verify that they understood the activity.
Study
The teacher will project the video of the song “song parts of the body in English” trough of link https://youtu.be/K-
bYFAFeH_Q. With a wide variety of imitations, rhythms and vocabulary, students strengthen knowledge about body
parts. Students will listen to the song twice to recognize the rhythm and lyrics. Then they will repeat the pronunciation
several times together with the teacher pointing to each body part that the song says.
Activate

The teacher will ask the students: what are your ears? where is your mouth? what are your eyes? where is your head?
where are the toes? What are your shoulders? and knees? and the nose? Students will respond by hand-pointing to
each body part they are asked.

Production

The students will draw their body, then show their classmates pronouncing each of it’s parts in English.
Assessment

The teacher will evaluate the learning of the students through the activity of relationship of words with picture
Annex 2. The teacher will pronounce each body part and the students repeat after it and then identify it in the
picture and relate it.
