3: Close the module Box and do the metal strip wrap for proper packing
17
HANDING INFORMATION
The weight on the two forks should be evenly distributed and not bend. The retainer should be near to
one edge of the assembly box.
Before lifting, the length of the sling should be evenly distributed on both sides to avoid the case
body tilting to one side during lifting, which causes the sling to be too tight and the assembly to
explode;
When lifting, the box should be kept balanced to avoid module tilting;
When someone is required to direct the hoisting box to fall down during loading and unloading, it
shall be kept as flat as possible to avoid collision and throwing of the module box, and the ground shall
be flat.
18
HANDING INFORMATION
In the process of loading and unloading, the forklift should be selected reasonably according to the size and
weight of the goods. If the fork length is less than 3/4 of the size of the goods, extension sleeves should be fitted on
the forks before the assembly is forked, in order to avoid the packing container dumping when moving the
forklift;
When the forklift is loaded with modules, the spacing between the two forks should be adjusted as required.
The load of the two forks should be balanced without deflection. One side of the assembly box should be close to

STORAGE INFORMATION
Due to the complex environment and climate of the project site, it is recommended to store the stacked
modules with single support after dismounting in order to ensure the safe storage of the modules on site (Only
after cutting the outer packing belt of the connecting two brackets, separate the upper and lower brackets)
,The double
glass modules should be stored with single support after dismounting;
The modules should be stored in a complete outer package, and the storage area should be protected
and pallets and packing cases from damp, direct sunlight and waterproof (rain) measures;
The modules storage areas should be kept dry, level, the ground and the horizontal Angle is less than 10 °;
Make sure that all modules with the same current gear are installed in the same area centrally(Square matrix,

slowly and steadily lifted and put down gently during loading and unloading, and the modules shall avoid
turbulence and violent vibration during transportation.
In order to prevent the safety of packing and placing modules affected by tilt
and uneven ground, please choose flat ground when unloading.
When unloading on the platform or ground, steel plate pads or tooling shall be used to assist in moving
the goods out of the container smoothly,to avoid
module bumps caused by the gap between the platform and the container floor.
It is recommended that the inclination angle between the fixture pad and the plane should be less than 5°,
so as to avoid the forklift hit the top of the container due to too much inclination when it comes out
of the container Loading modules , special command is required to the fork lift does not exceed the
modules, and prevent damage to adjacent modules when fork is raised or placed due to excessive
length of forklift arms (Figure 4);
When unloading, the whole modules should be balanced as f asa possible, r the forklift arm
should be kept relatively horizontal, and the forklift truck should fork the modules out of the container
slowly and smoothly;

General Helpers:
6. Construction Process
x Modules will be offloaded in Store areas used for tracker material (as shown in below picture for some
reference areas) or directly near the block depending on the available storage area mostly near the MV
10/31 33
Al Dhafra PV2 Solar Power Plant
Station, separate telescopic handler with 17 meter boam and 2 meter extension fork will be used for
offloading modules from the containers, hydrolic pallet jack also can be used for shifting the boxes inside the
containers if required only.
x More attentions shall be taken to avoid any likely damages during shifting of these materials. Visual
inspection shall be applied to check for any damages occurred to the modules prior to installation. The special
tools (boom loadall with forks will be used for loading & unloading).
x PV Modules will be shifted to installation site over a flatbed trailer in pallets as received. The pallets will be
tied to the flatbed using safety belts, to protect the pallets from falling off.
x The number of pallets shifted in a single trip will also be conservative, to reduce any sort of damage. Number
of pallets placed over another pallet will also be reduced as much as possible..
x Boom-loader used while off-loading and on-loading will have a layer of protection on its metal holder made
of a thick layer of cloth or some other soft material just to avoid any contact with the metal body of the
boom-loadall such as shown in the following picture.
x Modules can be shifted before or after purlin installation as we have enough access between trackers.
34 11/31
Al Dhafra PV2 Solar Power Plant
x The centre road will be used to transfer a flatbed full of pallets and will be off-loaded using tele-handlers
outside the block. As per the current situation on site, a single access will be made for two consecutive blocks
by removing or not installing one Torque tube in the final section of the consecutive block 1 (as shown in the
picture above). This will help the tele-handler move freely and without any obstruction to distribute the
modules inside each block. Same access will also be used to distribute the modules in consecutive block 2
(please refer the layout above).
x On average each tracker will have maximum 160 modules so 5 pallets per tracker will be used. So the pallets
will be distributed in between every tracker with the access shown above.
x Other Sections will also be distributed using the same access and calculated number of modules (pallets) will
be shifted in between each tracker starting distribution from the far end (to avoid blocking any access).
x This access will be handy and will avoid causing any damage to the modules as the distance a tele-handler
travels is comparatively less. More precautions can also be taken to avoid damages.
12/31 35
Al Dhafra PV2 Solar Power Plant
Note:
x Module boxes will be distributed based on the available current ratting, minimum requirement that each PV
module string(loop) must have the same current ratting for all PV module.
x The logistics team along with the site engineer will follow the same document to ensure that correct type of
modules has delivered in the correct block to avoid any kind of mixing as per below drawings
x The logistics team has to assure at every point of logistics that the modules are not damaged at any cost.
36 13/31
Al Dhafra PV2 Solar Power Plant
x Before unpacking, the product name and serial number will be checked by the installer.
x When unpacking, cut all vertical packing belts with a blade or scissors, first cut the long side packing
belt, then cut the short side packing belt; remove the upper cover of the carton and take out two or three
upper lifting brackets.
x Modules removed from the box are prohibited from leaning against the mounting post and placed in an
environment without reliable support or unfixed.
x The sub-contractor team will start removing the modules carefully and will check the module
thoroughly to ensure that completely unbroken modules are installed.
x In case if any of the module has found broken, the team will separate the broken module and will
inform EPC QA/QC team and serial number will be noted and will be shifted to the designated area
to ensure that the module should not be installed anywhere.
x While unboxing the pv modules, the pallet will be dismantelled and a separate wooden/steel
fabricated support will be used from one side of the pallet where ever necessery.
14/31 37
Al Dhafra PV2 Solar Power Plant
x Don’t let any tools scratch the back sheet. Be careful at the end of a rail while mounting the module.
If modules are stored on top of each other, always lift a module without sliding from the pile. When
sliding modules across each other, the frame of the lower module might scratch the back sheet of the
next module.
x Don’t let the modules fall down. glass breakage or other damage might occur.
x Modules must always be unpacked and installed by two people. Always use both hands when
handling modules.
x Modules will be placed and distributed near the installation place with proper safety to avoid any
damage. Construction team working separately will be deployed in the area of distributed modules.
38 15/31
Al Dhafra PV2 Solar Power Plant
x The modules type differ on our project which are also from different suppliers:
1. Trina
2. Suntech
3. Jolywood
These modules also have different specficiation as per design but the installation process is the same as it is
dependant on the type of the trackers. All teams will be instructed before to identify the types and distribute
according to the approved drawing. This also changes the number of revits used on different kinds of modules
varing from 4 to 6 revits mentioned in AD2-PV-GM001-003-02-Tracker System General Arrangement
The height of the structure is more than 2 meters it is difficult to reach without using ladders/scaffoldings, So two
different methods can be used for installation:
1. Installation at 45-degree:
Tracker will be rotated on 45-degree for installation with the help of a set of batteries with toggle switch
having the connector of slew drive provided by the manufacturer (fulfilling all HSE requirement) to rotate the
tracker to its desired position i.e 45 degree. After rotating the tracker, the team working on the tracker will
manually place the modules on the structure with all the precautions to avoid any damage and skratches on
modules.
16/31 39
Al Dhafra PV2 Solar Power Plant
As shown in the above picture one manpower will hold the module from down side and the other guy on the
upper side will set the module on the purlin, the required distance from the drive to module end will be checked
and then rivet with washer will be installed on the same module as shown below
After that second module will be placed manually beside first module on the other purlin then with the a small
T-spacer shown in the following picture will be placed in between these two modules and manually it will be
adjusted from both side East-West and North-South and the rivets will be installed on the second module, same
procedure will be continued until the last module, the size of the T-spacer will be different for each type of module
as shown in the below picture
40 17/31
Al Dhafra PV2 Solar Power Plant
After completion of the one side, tracker will be rotated on the other side to install the other side of pv modules
of the same tracker.
A team of 2 to 5 manpower will work together in a single team. This team will keep on installing the modules
on two parallel trackers which will save time for the team to comeback and complete the next tracker. Other
teams working parallel will complete the other side of tracker which is half completed and also the parallel
tracker next to it, this will also save time of tracker tilting from one angle to another for installation.
18/31 41
Al Dhafra PV2 Solar Power Plant
2. Installation at 0-degree:
A scaffolding/ladder type aluminium structure can also be used to install the modules on zero-degree position.
This pre-fabricated structure will have a worker standing on it who will install the modules on its installation
position at zero-degree.
In this method we do not need to rotate the tracker on each side, modules will be installed on zero degree.
Both methods have their own advnatages and disavantages, which menthod to be used, will be decided as per
the ease of the installation procedure. The method which is more suitable at that time of installation will be
continued further
In this method Modules will be installed on both side of the tracker E/W and same will be continued till end of
the tracker.
For riveting and alignment same procedure will be followed which already explain in above section only in this
menthod there is no need to rotate the tracker on both side, same T-spacer will be used for module to module
gap.
Rivet tools will be given to the teams mobilized with spare charged batteries for them to not affect the
production. As per the design two sizes of Rivet will be installed of 6.4mm and 8mm sizes. Once the revit tools
are supplied at site, construction team will attend training from the supplier for tools handling, maintenance
and optimizing the productivity.
Rivets will also be distributed by the same distribution team while distributing the modules in a single place for
n-number of trackers (number can be confirmed later), this will support the construsction team in controlling
the revits as small material can be misplaced easily.
Note:
x For the verification of the quantity and size of the rivets AD2-PV-GM001-003-02-Tracker System
General Arrangement drawing will be followed
x After installation on 45-degree the tracker will be rotated back to zero-degree, no tracker should be at
45 degree unattended.
42 19/31
Al Dhafra PV2 Solar Power Plant
x The polarity of the modules will be followed by the electrical drawing mentioned in section 3
AD2-PV-ED004-003-02
x Orientation of the module will be followed by the polarity of the module as we can see the view of
module from their prespective data sheet
x So based on above pictures from data sheet, orientation of the module will be followed by the polarity
requirement for particular string either it will be north or south side using drawing
