Bridgend Inspiring Growth AGM Meeting Minutes 03 10 2011

Present: Will Golding, John Knox, Anna Danby and Lizzie Hurst Anna to chase up what is happening with the Minutes of last meeting and any matters arising website All agreed and everything confirmed as accurate Finance and governance After the floor was opened for any nominations and a following vote it was agreed that committee positions would remain the same as the previous year with Will as the Chair, John as the Treasurer and Anna as the Secretary John provided a financial report for the year with our final account balance standing at 1356.93 with a further 1200 to come from the Neighborhood Partnership (NP) grant Discussed the ongoing application for Investing in Ideas and that we should finish this off and get it sent in. SCIO application is progressing; some small changes to the constitution were discussed to bring it more in line with our current way of operating. These were confirmed by all those present. Importance of continuing work on finishing a business plan to get out to other funding bodies and trusts. Projects and training Discussed the possibility of seeking advice from the Developments Trust Discussed how we are going to use the money received from the NP grant. This is going to be split between several different things which include; educational event to engage youth in the project, Storytelling and reminiscence work in two elderly care homes, printing a booklet about the history of Bridgend and creating some exhibition materials to promote the project.

Anna and Liz to put together some ideas for the youth event Will to research book printing costs Other news Agreed to have a presence at Apple Day at Bridgend allotments on Saturday 22nd October 11am 3pm Event on community building in Newcastle on 8th Anna and Will to attend December see Will for details if anyone wished to attend John wanted to make the group aware that he is standing as a Liberal Democrat candidate in next years election. He doesnt anticipate it effecting the project but thought we should know. Study visit to Moffat to be confirmed and all to soon be informed and invited. Date of Next meeting: 5th december 2011 6.30pm8.30pm (Venue TBC Inch Community Centre or local cafe)
