ACTION PLAN

PROGRAM OVERVIEW:

Program Name: “Teaching Behind Bars: Empowering Persons Deprived of


Liberty Through Literacy”.
Objectives: To provide education and literacy skills to persons deprived of
liberty, empowering them to lead more productive lives upon
release.
Duration: January 2021 to December 2022 (24 mos.)
Location: Bocaue Municipal Jail, 252 Bocaue Town Proper Road, Bocaue,
Bulacan

PROGRAM GOALS AND OBJECTIVES:

1. Increase Literacy Rates: Improved participants’ reading and writing skills to


functional level.
2. Enhance Employability: Provide education and training opportunities to enhance job
prospects post-release.
3. Promote Personal Growth: Foster self-confidence, critical thinking, and
communication skills.
4. Reduce Recidivism: Contribute to reducing the likelihood of reoffending by
empowering individuals with education.

ACTION STEPS AND TIMELINE:

Phase I: Program Setup and Orientation

January, 2021 – March, 2021 ( 3 mos.)

a. Planning Meeting with the Bocaue Municipal Jail personnel


b. Identify and recruit qualified educators and volunteers.
c. Secure necessary funding and resources
d. Conduct a needs assessment to gauge participants’ literacy levels and learning
needs.
e. Develop the curriculum and teaching materials tailored to the participants’
needs.
Phase 2: Program Implementation

April, 2021 – May, 2022 ( 14 mos.) Please see attached matrix.

a. Begin classes with a regular schedule.


b. Monitor participants progress through assessments and evaluations.
c. Provide individualized support to address specific learning challenges.
d. Organize guest speakers and motivational sessions to inspire participants.
e. Offer vocational training and life skills workshops in addition to literacy classes.

Phase 3: A. Evaluation, Adjustment and Reporting

June, 2022 – September, 2022 ( 7 mos.)

a. Adjust the curriculum and teaching methods based on the participant’s


feedback.
b. Celebrate achievements and milestones to boost motivation.
c. Continue assessments to track individual development.
d. Conduct a final program evaluation to measure overall success.
e. Prepare a comprehensive report detailing program outcomes, including literacy,
improvement rates and reduced recidivism statistics.
f. Share the report with stakeholders, including facility administration and the
wider community.

B. Monitoring and Evaluation

a. Data Collection - regularly collect data on participant progress,


attendance and program.
