Objectives:

recognition or phonic analysis to read and understand words; and of familiar sight and
irregularly spelled words for automatic recognition.

B. Performance Standards: The learner uses word recognition techniques to read and understand
words that contain complex letter combinations, affixes and contractions through theme-based
activities; and uses familiar sight and irregularly -spelled words in meaningful oral and
written tasks.

B. Motivation

Game
Balloon bursting inside the balloon are words having ough sound.

Let them read the words they got from the balloon.

C. Presentation
Present the short poem to the pupils.
The teacher will read it first then the pupils will follow.
