Activity/ Motivation Recall: What are different kinds of lines, graphic symbols and colors?

B. Presentation and Let the pupils read the concept notes on Visual media FOCUS:social distance.
Discussion of the Lesson
Social Distance is the distance between the viewer/focaliser and subject. How
close or far away is the subject shown? Social distance is measured on a
continuum from extremely close, to extremely remote. This is based on how
comfortable we generally feel with people being closed to us, in real life
situations.

C. Generalization What is social distance? What are the different kinds of social distance?

D. Application Present a picture and let the pupils identify what kind of social distance.

E. Enrichment

Describe the image presented.

Discussion of the Lesson
GAZE- the way a character looks with their eyes and face. It is a useful way to
convey meaning through an image because we can see where and how a figure
is looking at something outside of the next.

D. Application Given/new-when an image is clearly divided into left and right. The left side of the
image is called the given and represent information we already know. While the
right side of the image is called new and represents the information we may not
know.

FRAMING-refers to using elements of a scene to create frame within your frame.


It is the presentation of visual elements in an image, especially the placement of
the subject in relation to other objects. Framing can make an image more
aesthetically pleasing and keep the viewers focus on the framed object.
