IV. PROCEDURES
For prayer, let’s stand up, bow our head and give our soul and mind to this.

Direction: I’ll group you into 2 groups, each group will have a 5 sentences that they need
to answer as I’ll flash some images that corresponds to the sentences. Each group must
have a representative that will present their answer.

1. Used to loosen or tighten screws with slotted heads. (Screwdrivers)

2. Used for cutting, twisting, bending, holding, and gripping wires and cables.
(Pliers)
3. It has a capacity of 1⁄4‖ to 3/8‖ to make a holes in metal sheets and concrete
A. Prayer and Motivation walls. (Portable Electric Drill)
4. A tool that have a sizes the range in gauge #10 to gauge #16. (Wire stripper)
5. It is also called Lineman’s Pliers. (Combination Pliers)

Classroom Rules:

 Treat others with respect at all times.

 Listen and follow directions.
 Raise your hand before speaking or leaving your seat.
 Respect your classmates and your teacher.
 Focus, learn and be prepared
So, before we proceed to the next topic, let’s just have some recall.
B. Review of Previous Lessons Based from your understanding and learnings, what have been discussed in the previous
lesson? ( Calling a name )
C. Presenting examples/ I prepared a picture about Electrical Tools and Equipment. ( PPT)
instances of the new lesson
So, based from this picture, give me your insights, what’s this all about?
(Students will give their answers.)- At least 3-4 student.

Ok, that right. Very good class.

And for today’s lesson, we are going to tackle about the Electrical Tools and Equipment.

Learning Outcomes:
 Differentiate the types of tools in electrical;
 Demonstrate at least 1 type of tools with their uses and appearances;
 Recall and discuss the importance of using hand tools and equipment in
electrical.

Direction: Individually will present an example of electrical tools with its uses and
appearance in front of the class.

Electrical Tools and Equipment

F. Making generalizations and
o Electrical task can be accomplished systematically to save time, effort, and
abstractions about the lesson
resources. Most of the work cannot be done using bare hands. To do the task,
electrical tools or equipment are needed to perform the job. This lesson will
discuss the function/use of each tool or equipment used in electrical wiring
installations.

The following are common electrical tools and equipment needed in the installation
of electrical wiring:
1. SCREW DRIVERS. These
tools are made of steel
hardened and tempered at the
tip used to loosen or tighten
screws with slotted heads.
They come in various sizes
and shapes.

--Standard/Flat Screw Driver.

The blade tip is wedge-shaped
and resembles a negative (-)
sign. This is used to drive
screws with a single slot head.

--Philips Screw Driver. This

has a cross tip resembling a
positive (+) sign. This is used
to drive screws with cross slot
heads.

--Stubby Screw Driver. It

comes in either Standard or
Philips screw driver with short
shank or blade and a shorted
handle used to turn screws in
tight space where standard
screw driver cannot be used.

--Allen Screw Driver/Wrench.

This could be in the shape of a
screw driver or a wrench. Its
function is to drive screw with
hexagonal slot head.

2. HAMMERS. These are tools

used in driving or pounding
and pulling out nails. They are
made of hard steel, wood,
plastic or rubber. The following
are types of hammer:
A. Claw hammer

B. Mallet(rubber head)

C. Ballpeen hammer

3. PLIERS. These made from

metal with insulators in the
handle and are used for
cutting, twisting, bending,
holding, and gripping wires and
cables.

Types of Pliers:
--Combination Pliers (Lineman’s
Pliers). This is used for
gripping, holding, and cutting
electrical wires and cables and
even small nails. They are
usually used by linemen in
doing heavy tasks.

--Side Cutting Pliers. This type

of pliers is used for cutting fine,
medium and big wires and
cables.

--Long Nose Pliers. This is used

for cutting and holding fine
wires. This can reach tight
space or small opening where
other pliers cannot reach and
also used in making terminal
loops of copper wires.

4. Wire Stripper- A tool used for

removing insulation of medium
sized wires ranging from
gauge #10 to gauge #16.

5. Electrician’s Knife. This is used

by linemen to remove
insulation of wire and cables in
low and high voltage
transmission lines.

6. Portable Electric drill. A small

drilling machine with a chuck
capacity of 1⁄4‖ to 3/8‖. It is
used in making holes on metal
sheets and concrete walls.

7. Hacksaw. This tool is used to

cut metal conduit and armored
cable.

Applications:
-- Electrical tools are tools used to work on an electrical system. These can
include a wide range of tools such as wire and cable cutters, wire
strippers, coaxial compression tools, telephony tools, wire cutter/strippers, cable
tie tools, accessories, and even more. You need the right tools for many types of
crimp connectors. We all know that the right tool can make all the difference
when it comes to completing a project. They make the difference between done
and done right. The bottom line is, the better the tool, the better the outcome. We
stock the best brand electrical tools in the industry at the best prices. This way
you can get to work and get the job done correctly. The first step in determining
the electrical tools you will need is to determine what task needs to be
completed. Not every job will require specialty tools but using the right tool for
the job will make all the difference.

Where are these products implemented?

-- Electrical tools are implemented in just about every electrical application. They
are used to perform a whole range of capabilities you could not achieve
otherwise. Say you need to crimp various electrical connector types, then these
tools are the perfect place to start. Available in multiple formats, electrical tools
are ideal for new installations as well as when replacing or maintaining parts. Say
you have chipped electrical tools or damaged wire strippers, then these are the
perfect replacement tools.

G. Finding practical
applications of concepts and After the discussion and interaction between the students, I will ask everybody to give
skills in daily living what have they learned for the whole discussions.
