SEMI-DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN ENGLISH 3

I. Objective
1. Understand the use of Personal Pronouns (He or She).
2. Describing how to use Personal Pronouns (He or she) in sentences.
3. Creating and arrange sentences with the use of Personal Pronoun (He or She) in
sentences.
II. Subject Matter

Word strips, pictures from internet, laptop/tv/screen/
Power Point Presentation Slides.

III. Procedure

A. Routine Activities
1. Setting Classroom
2. Prayer
3. Checking Attendance

B. Review
 Recall the yesterday lesson about Noun.
 Ask students about the previous lesson.
 Ask student to give example of Noun.

C. Motivation
 Teacher pulls out 5 students at a time.
 Tell students that you’re going to play a game.
 Tell student the instruction of their activity game.

Instructions:
 Pass around the flag while singing softly the Itsy Bitsy Spider.
 Play the video song of Itsy Bitsy Spider (from YouTube played in
screen/TV/laptop with the use of speaker).
 Whoever gets the flag at the end of the song will pick a picture from the box and
tell something about it in a sentence using ‘’He’’ or ‘’She’’.
D. Lesson Proper
I. Presentation

 Show the picture of mother eating salad to the pupils.


 Teacher continues with She likes to eat salad.
 Teacher puts She opposite Mama’s picture and name.
 Teacher will present the following sentences on screen/tv/projector and power
point presentation/chart.
Bianca baked my favorite cake. She baked my favorite cake.
Papa made balloons for my party. He made balloons for my party.
My cousin Jon brought me presents. He brought me present.
 Teacher will read the following sentences and tell students to repeat it.
 Teacher will tell to find out if they are correct as learn about the proper use of He
and She.
 Teacher will tell that it is important for us to learn this as will help us talk about
people around us.

2. Discussion
Explain;
We use She to take the place of a girl’s name whom we are talking about.
In our first example, we talked about Mama. Mama is a girl so I used She to take the
place of “Mama”.
In our second example, we talked about Bianca. Bianca is girl so I used She to take the
place of “Bianca”.
Continue this using another example.
Here are the examples.
(picture of a girl wearing eyeglasses) Ana wears eyeglasses.
(picture of Lola) Lola cooks yummy food.
(picture of a boy) Dennis plays in the playground.
(picture of Lolo) Lolo builds me a house.

3. Generalization
Ask student:
When do we use “he”?
When do we use “she”?
Tell the students:
We use “he” to take the place of a boy’s name whom we are talking.
We use “she” to take the place of girl’s name whom we are talking.

4. Practice Exercise

Pair Activity. Let’s practice using He and She.

 Teacher shows picture of boys and girls and says sentences. Students raise the
appropriate word card. Students practice saying the sentences with their partners.
 Teacher calls on students to say the sentences using “He” or “She”.)
Sentences:
1. Lea is my friend.
2. Tito Val visits me at home.
3. Vito sings loudly.
4. Teacher Rose speaks softly.
5. Dilan feels sad.
6. Baby Carla is crying.
7. Jaron likes chocolate.
8. Mom has a red bag.
9. Joaquin reads his favorite book.
10. Monique dances gracefully.

V. Application
Group Activity
Divide the class into two group for this activity.
Directions: Raise the flag. The teacher will have a signal to raise the flag. The pupil who raises the flag
first will be the one to answer. The contestant from each group will get a picture from the box. They will
use “He” or “she” to complete the sentence.

VI. Evaluation
 Teacher will ask students to get their activity notebooks
 To answer the following.
 Flash the pictures on screen
Direction: Look at the pictures. Complete the sentence using “he” or “she”.
Write the answer inside the box
Remarks:
Tomorrow we will check your Activity notebooks.
VII. Assignment

 Teacher will ask student to copy their assignment to their notebook


Direction: Complete the sentences by using “he” or “she”. Write your answer on the space
provided.
