ABSTRACT

The goal of this study is to develop 9th grads students


higher order thinking skills (i.e. Critical and Creative
thinking) in the topic of analytic geometry. To achieve this
goal, the researchers expanded (this expansion was

suggested by Krulik and Rudnik, 1999) the Content of


George Polyas final heuristic, looking back (Polya, 1973).
The expansion include three additional areas, namely:
Whats another way?,What if?, and Whats
wrong?.The findings indicated the validity and
effectiveness of these areas in developing students higher
order thinking skills, thus, evidence supportsprevious
claims (Krulik and Rudnik, 1999) that a post-heuristic level
)exists after George Polyas final heuristic (looking back
and that level renamed eflect or After-the -Answer ) .Thus
reflect level can encourage Students to develop critical and
.creative thinking skills
