Transcript of the song

Chorus:
I. Literature review:

In linguistics, semantics is the subfield that studies meaning. Semantics can

address meaning at the levels of words, phrases, sentences, or larger units of
discourse. One of the crucial questions which unite different approaches to
linguistic semantics is that of the relationship between form and meaning.
Metaphor, metonymy, simile, and personality are common transference which use
in the artwork. Metaphor is the transference of names based on the association of
similarity. A simile is a figure of speech relating to “the use of comparison of one
thing with another” (Crowther et all, 1992). Personification is a special kind of
metaphor in which human characteristic is attributed to an inanimate object or
abstract notion. Metonymy is the Transference of names based on the association
of contiguity. These transferences are used in a recent popular music MV named “
Tron tim”

Den Vau released the MV ‘ Tron tim’ on the evening of May 13 - also his
birthday - on his YouTube channel with the contributing to the rapper is the group
MTV. The song brings not only a new wind but also maintain "Den" style: simple,
aesthetic and sincere. The song is like a confession of many people about the
domain of hiding and seeking their life and love.

In the MV “Tron tim”, Den Vau transforms into a tree trunk and witnesses the
journey of a little girl to adulthood. From an innocent girl running around, playing
around a tree to a beautiful adult girl, meeting her first lover, experiencing all
levels of emotions - happy, sad, happy, miserable. In each stage of the girl's life,
the "trunk" -also changes through the seasons - blooms, grows moss, changes
leaves, endures rain and sun.
As time passed, it was also the "trunk" of Den Vau that saw the pain of the girl
when she had to leave the person she loved. Then, when the girl realized that the
thing that was most familiar to her was the tree trunk that always appeared beside
her, it was time to leave. This brings sadness and regrets to both the character and
the viewer. As time passed, it was also the "trunk" of Black Vau that saw the pain
of the girl when she had to leave the person she loved. Then, when the girl realized
that the thing that was most familiar to her was the tree trunk that always appeared
from small to large, it was time to leave, leaving the sadness and regret for the
character and the viewer.

II. Finding:

1. Verse 1:
In a garden stands a tree
Full blossom in the canopy
Có hai đứa nhóc đang chơi trốn tìm
Out playing hide-and-seek
Caught up in the game, two kids adrift
Firstly, we can see “ The tree” and “Garden” are the metaphor. “The tree” is
referred to the heart of the boy and “The garden” is the heart of the girl. The
sentence “In a garden stands a tree”, means the first boy appeared, when the
girl was a child. She does not love and maybe never love the boy back, just
only considers him as a close friend. However, the boy does not realize; so
he never changes and stays like a “cây si” – keeping an eye on the girl and
follow her for life, protect and care for her just like a close friend, like the
image of a silent tree.
The next, “Full blossom in the canopy” - Metaphorical image to indicate
the relationship between the boy and the girl is very closse.
“Lòng em không gợn sóng, cuối cùng anh mất công chìm
I sink in vain - you remain unruffled”
This is metaphor, the boy secretly loves the girl, but the girl innocently does
not realize and care the boy's feelings.
“ Nếu mà có cây búa anh sẽ nện cho bõ công
I might as well pound away”
Vì nhớ nhung đặc quánh giờ nó khô thành bê tông
The gooey longing hardened into concrete”
Besides, the author also uses the comparison “concrete” with “the
longing”, implied for the repressed how much the boy misses the girl by the
time, and after all becomes as heavy as concrete. After being suppressed
emotionally, the boy realizes that everyone has to grow up and has trips to
experience in the future.
We are destined for our own life voyage
Phải tự học lấy mọi thứ vì trong “tình trường” làm biếng ghi bài
Gain own mastery after slacking in “love” college
Wind up dabbing our story with a hint of irony
Vì cách mà em gọi anh, không có u và thiếu y dài (Ê)
Cos you hit me up with no “lo” and a missing “v” (e)”.
It is used metaphorically by the author. In love, the girl called the boy
with no “lo” and a missing “v” (e). This proves that, to the boy, it is love,
while the girl only considers their is friendzone.
A wave of nostalgia about their childhood, memory, and the familiar
relationship makes the boy expect again when in a strange city, streetlamps
lighten:
In the distance lights up the nightscape
Hương quen xưa làm anh thấy thật thèm thuồng
A dear scent gets my hankering to take shape
A pang of sorrow, like a resplendent brassy tinge”.
The last, sadness is compared to Beckham. Den Vau is a very interesting
pun and uses metaphor.
Bend it like Beckham, you’ve got a way with my feelings”.
He took the word " got a way ", one meaning is to break each other's
hearts, the other meaning is the literal meaning of the word, "put the soles of
the feet in contact with the ball to create a shot, make the ball's trajectory
along the curve”. David Beckham, a former British player, is famous for his
heart-stopping free kicks. That is also the reason for the famous saying
"Bend it like Beckham" - heartbreaking like Beckham. It means the way of
playing soccer is fast, the huge power , the way that the girl treat to the boy
is so hurt.
Hé cửa sổ ra mà xem
Come take a peek through the window
Có một chàng thi sĩ đứng ở ngay nhà em
At a poet on your doorstep down below
Viết nhạc tình mát ngọt tựa như cây cà rem
With honeyed rhymes like snow cone chilly
Anh ta sẽ đứng ở nơi đây cả đêm
Here all night is where he’ll be.”

In the following sentences, there is a combination of images comparing to honeyed

rhymes with snow cone chilly honeyed rhymes with snow cone chilly. The
musician wants to imply a budding, pure, sweet love. Besides, this love is also very
intense, is expressed through the sentences Here all night is where he’ll be

2. Verse 2:
This verse is about the boy deeply loves a girl and it's a one-sided love.
“Hồi đó anh Rụt rè như đám cây mắc cỡ
A walking touch-me-not, I was then bashful
Gần em làm anh hồi hộp tới mức gây tắc thở
Choked with flutter when you were around.”
In verse 2, the first two lyrics, uses comparison to express the scary of the
boy when he wonder to bare his heart with the girl or not, because it is one-
sided love.
None of us knew what was looming behind the clouds
That our hide-and-seek would have since turned so bleak”.

The sentence used personification in “looming behind the clouds”, The

boy seems to predict the bleak future of himself and the girl who he loves.
We hunt aspirations, and gather heaps of dreams”.
In two sentences, the metaphor is used in verb “hunt”, “ gather”, “grow”.
It indicate the aspirations to find the true love, the true life, the career, the
fame or even the soul or the ego of the boy and girl make a distance between
them.
We dig holes, just to unknowingly slip into one later

Brow furrowed, we realized not all flowers would have nectar”

“Dig holes” and “not all flowers would have nectar” are used metaphor to
express their meaning. The boy fell in loves with the girl, he digs a lot of
holes to grow flower for the girl. Suddenly, he realized that loved someone
who can’t love him back, and some days you fall these holes yourself by
your “ blind” in the love, your hurt and your loneliness.
“Gọi tên em anh mất giọng hoài
My hoarse voice from calling out to you
Hệt như là một giấc mộng dài
Repeatedly like in a never ending dream
Ta đi tìm cả thế giới nhưng mà lại trốn nhau
We seek the whole world out but hide from each other
Biết vậy thà nghỉ chơi từ lúc mới chớm đau
Should’ve called it quits when the wound was still minimal “
Người đi tìm cái người đi trốn, người đi trốn cái người đi tìm
Seeker seeking the hider hiding from the seeker
Under the shade, where the bygone love slumbers
In this hold lyrics, listeners can feel the wake-up of the boy. He could realize
that his love is one side. He finds and finds, even My hoarse voice from
calling out to you and Repeatedly like in a never ending dream”. To end the
line of feeling, Den Vau writes: Under the shade, where the bygone love
slumbers. The last sentence says the love of the boy was forgotten, and
faded throughout the mature of the girl, then it disappear they used
personification with “by gone love slumbers”.

3. Bridge:

All the trees chopped down, no garden left.”
The boy starts leaving the life of the girl. The girl or her lover cut the tree,
or the position of the boy in his crush as well.
When someone has cut down all the trees, it means that the boy leaves the
girl's life. The boy knows he has no hope because the girl is getting married.
The image of the tree is compared to the boy's long-standing love for the
girl. At that time the garden was erased and all the old memories seemed to
disappear.
A huge mansion rose in their stead.”
The image of a huge mansion is a metaphor for the girl who has married a
rich husband:
You must now be in a blissful love
I'm sure you're peaceful and happy with your husband
“Beware of dogs” - I dare not trespass.”
At that time, "you " no longer pursued money and fame, but wanted to settle
down, and wanted to build a family of his own, on the very old garden, with
the wood of the old tree. But the person who did it with you was "someone"
not me. So the guy could only bitterly joke: “Beware of dogs”- I dare not
trespass.
4. Verse 3:
Generally, in this verse seems to author’s contemplations and confessions.

The grown - ups' solitude

Is when we hide for no one to go find
There are times when aging backwards might be nice
As someone would find me when I hide.”
When you are an adult, you hide, and no one is looking for you you are an
adult. It does not like you were a child you run away, still someone looks for
you (when you were a kid)
Over time, we will grow up, think more, talk less. And before we know it,
we've all become anxious adults, full of hidden secrets that don't want to be
revealed. When you were a child, you loved hide and seek because you
knew that no matter where you went, someone would find you. When you
grow up, you will know that even if you hide far away, hide yourself for a
long time, even disappear from this world, it is unlikely that anyone will
notice, let alone take the initiative to find you. At that time, you realize that
you have grown up, which is lonely. When you grow up, life makes your
heart stronger, all emotions gradually become silent.

5. Chorus:

From beginning to end, listeners follow the story of the young boy's crush
and the girl's story about each stage in a troubled love affair from the
innocence of youth to the craziness of adolescence and ending with the
calculated selfish greed of maturity. There are one tree... two trees... three
trees, and finally no trees at all. It's a metaphorical way to mark each stage
of love: a tree is a young man who secretly loves and steals the girl next
door (the image of him planting a tree is the most obvious expression for this
period). Two trees are in their teenage years now, the girl has fallen in love
with the boy, he no longer grows the si tree alone, but now they have a
couple like 2 trees standing next to each other. Three trees is the time when
their relationship appeared to a third person and finally there was no tree left
because the girl herself cut down all her love and young dreams to chase
after material things. The image shows only a tall house built on a bare land
of love-trees. By the time the girl had all the material things she wanted, she
turned her head to look back at no trees and also felt lonely because there
was no more love.
“Có hai đứa nhóc đang chơi trốn tìm
Out playing hide-and-seek
Caught up in the game, two kids adrift.”
When we were young, we didn't know how to cherish, because of our own
carelessness, we lost those who really loved us. By the time we understood,
we had already lost them forever.
6. Visual metaphor:
In the music video "Tron tim", Den Vau uses the visual metaphor very
effectively to convey what he wants to say. Firstly, the image of white silk
cloth flying over the tree and sunflowers planted by the girl under the tree
appearing at the beginning of the MV, symbolizing the innocence and purity
of the girl when she was a child.

The secondly, the image of a girl wearing colorful dresses throughout the
MV represents a young girl in a beautiful young age.

Finally, the image of black dress and suitcase are used at the end of the MV
to symbolize the girl's lonely and growth.
