SITE OF THE PROJECT
1 The Site
1.1 Site of the Four-Lane Project Highway shall include the land, buildings, Structures and road
works as described in Annex-I of this Schedule-A.
1.2 The dates of handing over the Right of Way to the Contractor are specified in Annex-II of
this Schedule-A.
1.3 An inventory of the Site including the land, buildings, structures, road works, trees and any
other immovable property on, or attached to, the Site shall be prepared jointly by the
Authority Representative and the Contractor, and such inventory shall form part of the
memorandum referred to in Clause 8.2.1 of this Agreement.
1.4 The alignment plans of the Project Highway are specified in Annex-III of this Schedule-A,
which has to be followed by the Contractor as a minimum. The Contractor may, however,
improve upon the alignment plans and profiles and raise the Finished Roadway Level (FRL)
with approval from the Authority’s Engineer within the available Right of Way.
1.5 The status of the environment clearances is given in Annex-IV of this Schedule-A.
Annex-I

1. Site
The site of Construction of four laning of part of project highway comprises development of
twin tube (2X2) tunnel including approaches from Marog to Digdol From Design
Ch.154+210 to Design Ch.158+675(North Bound) and from Design Ch.155+940 to Design
Ch.160+282(South Bound) of Ramban to Banihal Section of NH-1A (Now NH-44), in the
Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir which is a hilly /steep terrain. The land, carriageway
and structures comprising the site are described below. An index map of the project highway
is given in Appendix A-I.
For a better understanding since the existing kilometer stones are not traced on ground, the
Existing ongoing contract design chainage is referred as “Existing Chainage” for the North
Bound (NB) and South Bound (SB) carriageways and Revised Design Chainage as “Design
Chainage for the North Bound (NB) and South Bound (SB) carriageways.

Details of the Proposed Extra Right of Way (PROW) are tabulated below. The ROW mentioned
below are minimum specified and shall be as per plan & profile.

Alignment Plans
The alignment plan of the Project Highway is available on E - Tendering portal of NHAI.
The existing alignment of the Project Highway shall be modified in the following sections as per the
alignment plan indicated below:
The alignment of the Project Highway is enclosed in alignment plan. Finished road level indicated
in the alignment plan shall be followed by the contractor as minimum FRL. In any case, the
finished road level of the project highway shall not be less than those indicated in the alignment
plan. The contractor shall, however, improve/upgrade the Road profile as indicated in Annex-III
of Schedule-A based on site/design requirement.
Traffic Signage plan of the Project Highway showing numbers & location of traffic signs is
enclosed. The contractor shall, however, improve/upgrade upon the traffic signage plan based on
site/design requirement as per IRC: SP: 84 & IRC: 67

Environment Clearances
Projects requiring Prior Environmental Clearance is given in the “SCHEDULE” of EIA Notification
2006. As per the Schedule categorization of the highway project is as follow:

Conclusion: The proposed project is the expansion of an existing national highway having length less
