Campaign to donate to? The
blueprints show it will be accessible
for people like me and when I’m old
enough to work, I hope Jory hires
me for the office.
Why do you think it is important
that a new pool is built? It will be
safer for swimmers and there are a
lot of people that learn to swim there.
If you were a fish, what fish would
you be? I’d be a carp because no
one around here would eat me.
What important life traits has 4H
taught you? 4H has taught me to
be a good citizen.
What is your favorite part of 4H?
My favorite part is being around
animals, specifically chickens. My

Careless driving ticket at the least?

Apparently the driver of a white Dodge pickup
is not a Scotty fan. They were seen blasting
through the road block on Scotty Pride Drive
(the road block was approved by Glasgow Police
Department) and driving over the freshly painted
handiwork by the Scotty parents. Witnesses did
get a description of the female driver and a license
plate number.

Dawgs win on interception in wet conditions

It’s Homecoming week in
Glasgow. The Dawgs will take on
Conrad Friday night at 7 p.m. Glasgow
is coming off of a hard fought 16-6
Northern B win over Fairfield.
Last week Glasgow had to rely
on its running game to pull out a
12-6 victory against Cut Bank. This
past Friday night the Dawgs relied on
interceptions to pull out a win over
Fairfield.
The conditions weren’t exactly
the best for playing football. But this
is Montana and you have to expect
any condition for a game. The teams
played in a steady rainfall, but it didn’t
seem to hurt the field.
The weather did make the ball
slippy and it did cause a few fumbles.
Glasgow’s senior quarterback Mason
Donaldson couldn’t handle the snap
under center in the third quarter.
Donaldson had driven the Dawgs
to the 7 yard line before his fumble.
Fairfield’s Bryden Batson recovered
the ball on the 5. On the Eagles
first play Glasgow linebacker Ethan
Nickels sacked quarterback Cooper
Christensen in the end zone for a
safety and an 8-6 Glasgow lead with
7:55 to play in the third.
Glasgow’s defense hounded
Christensen throughout the game.
The Dawgs forced five turnovers, three
of them interceptions. Glasgow also
broke up a few passes and knocked
the Eagles for losses on some plays.
Fairfield’s first turnover came after
the Dawgs had taken a 6-0 lead on
Donaldson’s 61-yard touchdown pass
to Wyatt Babb at the 6:10 mark of the
first period. Glasgow went with an
onside kick, which the Eagles didn’t
field. The Dawgs received the ball on
the 48.
Glasgow (5-1, 2-0) took the
opening kickoff down to the 46 of the
Eagles before punting the ball after
two incomplete passes. The Dawgs
defense knocked the Eagle back for
losses on two plays, forcing a punt.
Glasgow took the ball on its own 45,
but was sent back to the 40 on a false
start penalty. Mo Fast lost a yard on
the first carry, but Donaldson found
Babb open for the 61-yard score.
Babb shook off two defenders before
scoring.
The Dawgs didn’t go far after
recovering the onside kick fumble.
The offense managed to get to the
Eagles 46 before punting the ball.
Freshman 6-foot-2 defensive
lineman Grady Nielsen recovered an
Eagles fumble after Fairfield gained a
first down at the 21. Nielsen recovered
the fumble at the 16. That would lead
to Glasgow’s first turnover. Brian
Wared picked off a Donaldson pass
in the end zone. Glasgow attempted a
pass on a fourth down play from the
31. The Dawgs had lost yardage on
two plays and was penalized on a play.
Fairfield (2-3, 1-1) made it to the
41 before Christensen fumbled a wet
ball, recovered by Batson on the 39.
Two penalties later the Eagles punted.
Glasgow moved the ball to midfield
when Batson picked off a Donaldson
pass. But the Eagles didn’t have the
ball long as senior defensive back
Ashton Potter picked off Christensen.
The teams traded possessions
before the Eagles tied the game.
Batson returned the Dawgs punt 45
yards to the 3, setting up Christensen’s
2-yard quarterback sneak score with
28 seconds left in the first half.
The second half went much
like the first with more turnovers
and Glasgow adding a touchdown
and two-point conversion to seal the
victory.
Glasgow attempted an onside
kick to start the third, but the officials,
after some discussion, decided the
ball didn’t go 10 yards before Glasgow
recovered it. The radio announcer
didn’t agree with the call, but it went
to Fairfield on the 50. The Eagles
didn’t get far before punting the ball.
Toryn Richards, a junior defensive
back, blocked the punt. The ball went
back to the 23, setting the Dawgs up
with excellent field position. Glasgow
drove down to the 7 where Donaldson
fumbled the ball. That led to a safety
when Nickels tackled Christensen in
the end zone.
The Dawgs defense came up
with two pass deflections on the
Eagles second and third possessions.
Junior defensive back Nate Hentges
broke up a pass that would have given
the Eagles a first down at the 25. They
did get to the 20 where they punted.
Coy Nelson, a sophomore linebacker,
broke up a pass in the end zone, which
resulted in the Eagles turning the ball
over on downs. Babb recovered a
Fairfield fumble on the Eagles next
possession with 7:30 to play in the
game.
Fairfield had a drive going,
getting to the Glasgow 35, when
Richards picked off a Christensen
pass. That led to a Tatum Hansen
72-yard touchdown and Donaldson’s
2-point conversion to seal the victory
with a 16-6 score. Hentges came up
with one final interception where
Donaldson would take a knee twice to
run out the clock.
Unofficially, Glasgow held the
Eagles to 147 total yards with 99
coming through the air. Hansen was
held to 9 yards in the first half, but
finished with 133 thanks to the 72
yard score. Glasgow had 198 rushing
yards and 303 total yards. Donaldson
was 6 for 21 in passing for 105 yards.
Babb had 69 yards on three catches
and Fast 36 on three catches.
