Girl Scout Troop 2077 (and

one scout from Glasgow)
spent a fantastic day
outside for Earth Day. With
the help of Ranger Lak
Kloker, the girls spent the
day checking on bird boxes
around the Downstream
Campground. We walked
around the walking trail and
the Winter Harbor area,
checking to be sure the
boxes were cleaned out
and available for use for
spring birds to come make
a home. Ranger Kloker
gave the girls some basic
instruction on using power
tools, and they were able
to remove damaged boxes
and put up new. It was the
perfect sunshine day for us
to enjoy Earth Day and do
a bit of community service.

McColly shining at Dickinson
By Mike Brandt
Switching from basketball
at Williston to continue her
track career was probably the
best thinking Kaitlyn McColly
did. At least it sure looks like it.
The Hinsdale athlete had an
outstanding high school career,
wrapping it up by winning the
second place trophy at the state
meet with 42 points. All she did
was win the 300 hurdles, running a time pf 46.34 seconds,
won the pole vault at 10-feet, 6-inches, and win the triple
jump at 35-feet, 4-inches, take second in the 100 hurdles,
15.01, and third in long jump, 16-11.75.
Now McColly is shining at Dickinson State where she was
named North Athletic Association Women’s Track Athlete
of the Week.
The sophomore won a pair of titles for the Blue
Hawks in the Blue Hawks Games. She produced the NAIA
“B” provisional qualifying time in the 100 meters, running
a 14.63, which currently leads the North Star Athletic
Association.
McColly also ran a leg on the Blue Hawks 4X2100
relay that won the race sith a time of 48.63 seconds. Also
running on the relay team was Baker’s Wrenzi Wrzesinski,
Kyley Barnett of WatfordCity, N.D,, and Jocelyn Ott
of Reed Point. Wrzesinski, McColly, Wolf Point’s Jewel
Olson, and Barnett also run on the 4X400 relay team.
McColly’s college best are, 27.12 in the 200, 1:01.75,
400, 2:24.52, 800, 8.67. 60 hurdles, 14.63, 100 hurdles,
1:03.29, 400 hurdles, 5-3, high jump, 8-3, 12’ pole vault,
17-9.75, long jump, 35-4.5, triple jump, 38-0.25, SP, 112-4,
javelin, 3,652, PENT, and 4,862, HEP.

Kaitlyn McColly single-handedly won a second-place

trophy for the Hinsdale Raiders in 2021, and is now
competing — and excelling — for the Hawks.
